The Martin County School Board approved several district leadership appointments during its July 21 meeting, strengthening the team that supports students, employees, and schools across the District.
The appointments include Jamie Sansone as Director of Professional Standards and Employee Relations, Christiana Coburn as Director of Federal Programs, Edward King as Coordinator of Safety and Security, Irena Colquitt as Coordinator of Facilities and Planning, Lisa Bratton as Coordinator of Mental Health Services, and Kimberly DeSantis as Coordinator of Exceptional Student Education (ESE).
Several of these positions were established through the District's organizational restructuring approved earlier this summer, while others fill existing vacancies.
Jamie Sansone will serve as Director of Professional Standards and Employee Relations. She most recently served as coordinator of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) for the Martin County School District. She previously served as an Exceptional Student Education program specialist for Hospital Homebound Services, an Intervention Problem Solving coach and support facilitator, and an elementary school teacher. Her work has included supporting school leaders and professional learning.
Christiana Coburn will serve as Director of Federal Programs. She most recently served with the School District of Indian River County, where she oversaw Title I and other federally funded programs. Throughout her career, she has served in instructional and district leadership roles supporting schools and educators.
Edward King will serve as Coordinator of Safety and Security. King brings 27 years of law enforcement experience with the New York City Police Department, where he retired as a lieutenant. Most recently, he served as an associate investigator conducting employment background investigations and suitability reviews.
Irena Colquitt will serve as Coordinator of Facilities and Planning. She most recently served as director of operations and administration support at Calvary Christian Academy, where she oversaw campus safety, facilities projects, emergency preparedness, and construction planning. She previously owned and operated a security integration company for more than two decades, overseeing business operations and project management.
Lisa Bratton will serve as Coordinator of Mental Health Services. Bratton most recently served as families in transition program manager for Charlotte County Public Schools, where she coordinated programs for students and families experiencing homelessness, monitored grant implementation, and provided community outreach. She previously served as a school social worker for more than 16 years and is a licensed clinical social worker in Florida.
Kimberly DeSantis will serve as Coordinator of Exceptional Student Education (ESE). She most recently served as an ESE program specialist with the Martin County School District, where she coordinated district-level ESE compliance and provided support to educators and families. She previously served as a prevention intervention specialist, ESE intervention problem-solving coach, and LEA representative, in addition to classroom teaching roles.
