ep 21 flexible education

The Martin County School District's All In Martin Podcast is highlighting new opportunities for families to personalize their child's education through Martin County Flexible Education while accessing the same high-quality instruction offered throughout the back-to-back A-rated District.

In the latest episode, host Kirstie Germaine is joined by Dan Moore, Executive Director of Academic Services, Student Retention Specialist Jen Champagne, and Guillermo Orozco, Coordinator of Student Services, to discuss the virtual and in-person learning options available to students.

Through Martin County Virtual School, students in grades 6-12 can take individual online courses taught by MCSD educators using the Florida Virtual School curriculum. Current MCSD students may use the program for opportunities such as acceleration and course recovery, while Home Education and eligible Florida Choice Scholarship students may take courses to supplement their current educational program. The biggest difference with Martin County Virtual: local teacher support and in-person assistance are available.

Home Education students and students participating in eligible Florida Choice Scholarship programs may also enroll in individual in-person courses at MCSD schools, as space allows. Offerings include core academic subjects, fine arts, Career and Technical Education courses, and other specialized learning opportunities.

The episode explains how families can explore available courses, begin the enrollment process, and receive support from District staff along the way.
