The Martin County School District is celebrating another milestone in academic excellence after earning the Academically High-Performing School District designation from the Florida State Board of Education for the 2025-2026 school year.
The District is one of just 19 school districts in Florida to receive the designation, marking the first time MCSD has earned the distinction since the 2020-2021 school year. The designation recognizes strong academic performance, fiscal responsibility, and compliance with state class size requirements.
โRegaining this designation is a meaningful accomplishment for our District because it reflects the work happening every day in our schools and across our organization,โ Superintendent Michael Maine shared. โThis recognition represents more than academic achievement; it reflects our commitment to fiscal responsibility, accountability, and meeting the standards that allow us to serve students well. I am proud of our teachers, staff, students, families, and community partners who contribute to this work every day. It takes all of us working toward a shared vision to achieve results like these, and I hope our entire community takes pride in this accomplishment. We will continue building on this progress and raising the bar for our students.โ
To qualify, school districts must meet criteria based on school and district grades and class size compliance for the 2025-2026 school year, along with financial audit reviews for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
This latest achievement comes as the Martin County School District, celebrates back-to-back A ratings from the Florida Department of Education and its highest accountability score in District history.
