Dr. John D. Millay, Superintendent

MCSD Faculty and Staff,

I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!  I hope each of you have had a very relaxing break and were able to spend some quality time with your family and friends.  As we look forward to having everyone back for the new semester, I wanted to share the following:

•             All MCSD Covid-related protocols that were in place as we ended this past semester will remain in place upon our return on January 3rd. The only change for employees is that if an employee has tested positive for Covid, the quarantine period is now for 5 days.   If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving after 5 days, you can return to work.  Masks remain voluntary.

•             If you are sick or quarantined and feel you will not be present for work on Monday, January 3rd, please notify your principal or supervisor ASAP so they may confirm ample substitute coverage for students/classes.

•             As there may be several students out due to the recent increase in Covid (Omicron strand), I want to encourage teachers to please consider turning your instructional cameras on for those students that may be absent due to Covid quarantining (designated with a green icon in student information system). This will help our students stay connected to classroom instruction and directions for classwork missed.  I know our students and parents appreciate this greatly.

I am beyond proud of the way our staff remained so diligent and focused throughout the first semester and know that this upcoming semester will be great as well.

Thanks again and welcome back!

John D. Millay, Ph.D.
