VPK Open Enrollment

The Martin County School District's (MCSD) Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Program (VPK) will begin accepting applications for the 2022-2023 school year on February 7, 2022.  The program is available at select District-operated schools with limited enrollment.  VPK is an early learning program that provides developmentally appropriate instruction and activities to prepare four-year-olds for kindergarten and beyond by building a solid foundation for school success.  To be eligible, children must be four years of age on or before September 1 of the school year in which they attend VPK and must reside within an area served by a participating school.  The three-hour VPK program is provided at no cost to parents and the full school day program is available for a monthly cost of $270.00* (*subject to change.)

Parents will be able to apply for one of MCSD's 270 VPK seats during open enrollment. The open enrollment will take place in two phases beginning on February 7, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. Open enrollment will be completed online using the links below:

Registration for VPK is a Multi-Step Process

Step 1 – Parents/caregivers obtain a VPK Certificate of Eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition of Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee Counties (ELCIRMO).    In order to obtain a VPK Certificate of Eligibility, parents must visit the website below to complete the online application:

Step 2 – Parents/caregivers enroll their child with the Martin County School District.                                      

A) Families apply online to the school site that their home address is zoned for using the appropriate link above. 

B) Parents attend an appointment with Patricia Little, VPK Family Service Liaison, to provide the following documents to complete the registration process:

  •  The VPK Certificate of Eligibility

  • Child’s Birth Certificate
  • Two Proofs of Residency (FPL, Cable, utility bill, lease agreement, Mortgage, current property tax bill, deed to home, automobile insurance policy, driver’s license or State of Florida identification card with Martin County address listed.)
  • State of Florida Physical Record issues by your child’s pediatrician.
  • State of Florida Immunization Record.

Please note the physical and immunization records do not have to be current for registration but MUST be up to date prior to the first day of school on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

Please use the following information to determine where your child will attend VPK based on your home-zoned school

Students zoned to attend one of the following schools will attend VPK at that school: Bessey Creek Elementary, Citrus Grove Elementary, Crystal Lake Elementary, Felix A. Williams Elementary, Hobe Sound Elementary, J.D. Parker Elementary, Jensen Beach Elementary, Palm City Elementary and Warfield Elementary.

Students whose home-zoned school is Pinewood Elementary or Port Salerno Elementary will attend VPK at the Port Salerno Learning Center.

Students whose home-zoned school is SeaWind Elementary will attend VPK at Hobe Sound Elementary
