School Board Approves Plan to Offset Rate Increase for Employees' Medical Insurance Plans

The Martin County School Board has approved the use of American Rescue Plan (ARP) relief funding to offset the rate increase for the District's upcoming employee health plan renewal.

This action taken by the School Board means that benefit-eligible employees of the Martin County School District will see no increases to the medical premiums that are deducted from their paychecks during the 2022-2023 plan year, which goes into effect on July 1, 2022.  The School Board also approved the contribution of $1,000 to the Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) of employees enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).

Employees are encouraged to begin preparing for the Benefits Open Enrollment period, which is scheduled for April 18-29, 2022.  Information about all plan options will be available on the Risk Management & Employee Benefits Department's website as well as in the "Employee Benefits" folder located on the home screen of employees' District-issued computers. Employees are also encouraged to attend one or more upcoming Zoom sessions to learn more about plan options and have their questions answered.
