In August 2018, Martin County voters generously approved a half-mill property tax referendum in support of operational needs throughout the Martin County School District. While the half-mill property tax referendum is set to expire this year, the proposed renewal of the referendum will appear on voters' ballots in August 2022.
It is important to remember that if the renewal is approved by voters in August, the referendum will simply continue. There would be no increase in property taxes for home or business owners.
