The Martin County School Board approved the instructional calendar for the 2023-2024 school year during its meeting held on November 22, 2022. The first day of the 2023-2024 school year will be August 10, 2023, with the last day falling on May 23, 2024.
Thanksgiving Break* will occur November 22-26, 2023, and Winter Break* will begin on December 23, 2023, with students returning to school on January 4, 2024. Schools will be closed March 11- 15, 2024, for Spring Break.
The 2023-2024 school calendar adheres to the number of instructional hours required by the Florida Department of Education. The 2023-2024 calendar was developed by the School Board's Calendar Committee, which is comprised of citizens appointed by Members of the School Board.

*Emergency Makeup Days precede Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break (November 20-21 and December 21-22). If we do NOT experience an emergency situation(s) that would require the use of one or more of these Emergency Makeup Days, they will be added to each holiday break as vacation time. If we experience conditions that would necessitate making up one or more school days, we will provide notice of the appropriate date(s) to families and employees as soon as possible.
