Speak Life

Dear Families,

The Martin County School District is pleased to announce an upcoming safe schools campaign for middle and high schools: Speak Life End Bullying the Musical.

Statistics show that millions of students across our nation have been the victims of bullying, and millions more have seen the toll it takes on the mental and physical health of a friend or loved one. Speak Life End Bullying the Musical is a film conveying messages which empower action beyond awareness to awaken empathy, ignite hope and inspire change. In the musical, students see their classmates, their friends and even themselves – they see the impact it has on their own lives.

This film provides students with a unique awareness and contemplation of themes such as identity, vulnerability, pain, internal and external pressure, and emotional processing.

In accordance with the schedule printed below, students will be watching Speak Life End Bullying the Musical.  After the film, your child's school will be implementing a series of lessons - aligned with resources approved by the Florida Department of Education's Office of Safe Schools - to explore and further analyze its themes.

  • Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School - Friday, September 30, 2022
  • Hidden Oaks Middle School - Friday, September 30, 2022

We look forward to seeing how Speak Life End Bullying the Musical contributes to the overall climate of our school district and the academic success of our students.  To watch a preview of the film, please click here
