We are excited to celebrate our incredible 8th-grade scholars as they complete their journey at Hidden Oaks MS! This is a special milestone, and we are so proud of all their hard work, growth, and achievements throughout their middle school years.

📝 Important Reminders:

Practice will take place on May 26th & May 27th from 9:30–11:30 AM
Students will receive their recognition tickets following practice on May 27th
Students should return to campus by 5:30 PM and enter through the front by the cafeteria
Gymnasium doors will open for families at 5:30 PM
The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 PM

We will also have a live YouTube video for those at home! Link will be shared on Wednesday, May 27th.

🌟🦈 A Night to Celebrate Our Shark Scholars! 🦈🌟 Tonight at the Martin County School Board, it was truly a night of celebration as so many of our Hidden Oaks shark scholars were recognized for their incredible accomplishments! From our Odyssey of the Mind team to our MathCounts competitors, Science Fair participants, and Academic Games scholars, HOMS was proudly represented across the board. Each of these groups has contributed to an unbelievable year of success through their dedication, teamwork, and passion for learning. While not everyone is pictured, please know that we are incredibly proud of each and every scholar who represented Hidden Oaks Middle School this year. 🔬✨ Science + Chocolate = A Sweet Experiment! 🍬🔦 Mrs. Smith’s 7th grade science class had a colorful day exploring reflection and absorption in a hands-on (and tasty!) way! Using colored flashlights and sorting M&M’s, our scholars investigated how light interacts with different colors—seeing firsthand which colors reflect light and which absorb it. The best part? Learning felt like play, and curiosity was shining bright in the classroom! 💡 At HOMS, we love seeing our scholars dive into science with creativity, collaboration, and a little bit of fun along the way. Way to go, Sharks! 🦈👏

🎶🦈 Huge Shark Shoutout! 🦈🎶 We are beyond proud to celebrate our incredible choral director, Mrs. Rocks, who was surprised today with a well-deserved award from Martin Arts—to be formally presented this November! 🎉👏 Mrs. Rocks is the heart of our choral program and musical theater, pouring her passion, talent, and dedication into every rehearsal and performance. Her commitment to our scholars shines through in everything she does, inspiring confidence, creativity, and excellence. 💙 Congratulations, Mrs. Rocks! Learning in Action in Downtown Stuart! 🦈🌴 Today, Mrs. Stebbing and her sixth-grade Shark scholars took their learning beyond the classroom and into the heart of downtown Stuart! 📍 Our students had the incredible opportunity to bring their education to life with a visit to the historic Lyric Theatre—experiencing firsthand the rich history and culture of our community. Instead of just reading about it, they lived it! 🎭✨

🦈 Celebrating Our Shark Scholars! 🦈 Tonight, we had the incredible honor of celebrating two outstanding Shark Scholars at two special events across town! At the Sydney Young Golden Heart Award Ceremony, we proudly recognized 7th grader Jada Perotti for her compassion, kindness, and genuine care for others. Meanwhile, at the Boys & Girls Club during the annual Joe Kordick Character Counts Awards, we celebrated 8th grader Connor Benton for his exceptional character, leadership, and commitment to doing what’s right. These two scholars truly rise above. Their actions reflect the very best of who we strive to be—selfless, service-minded, and dedicated to lifting others up without ever seeking recognition. From giving their time to supporting others, they exemplify what it means to lead with heart and integrity. They don’t do it for the spotlight… they do it because it’s the right thing to do. ⛵️CARDBOARD BOAT RACES⛵️ The 8th Annual Cardboard Boat Races took over the Martin County High School pool today—and yes, there were boats that floated… and boats that absolutely did not. 😂🌊 This year was extra fun with middle school joining for the first time! 🏆 Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School swept the speed awards in middle school and also took home Most Spirited Team! 🏆 Crystal Lake Elementary School dominated the elementary speed awards, while Bessey Creek Elementary School brought the spirit and earned Most Spirited Team! 🦈 Day Two of Our Feeder School Tours = Leadership in Action! 🦈 Today, we returned with this time Palm City Elementary, and our current sixth- and seventh-grade Shark scholars truly rose to the occasion! These student leaders stepped up and ensured that everyone was in the right place at the right time, moving through transitions smoothly and staying together as one team. Their responsibility, leadership, and care for our future Sharks made today a success—and I couldn’t be more proud of the work these individuals did. During their visit to the Shark Tank, students explored core and elective classes, transitioned alongside our Sharks, and navigated our campus waters just like true middle schoolers. This authentic transition experience—seeing the full campus in action and what life as a Shark is really like—sets our future Wildcats up for long‑term success.
