Certification Renewal

April 1st in the last year of your certificate is the Martin County School District's deadline to finish the requirements to upgrade or renew your certificate

Process for Current MCSD Employees

Florida Educators with a 5-year Professional Certificate must renew their certificate during the last year of the certificate's validity period. To renew your certificate, you need a minimum of 120 in-service points, or the equivalent in college courses or a combination of in-service points and college courses., including the 20 point teaching students with disabilities (SWD) requirement. You can take courses for renewal credit through the FDLRS-BEESS PORTAL .

Once you have enough renewal credit entered into Frontline, login to your FLDOE account and follow the Renewal Application Instructions, and then click the electronic payment button below.  Once you have completed the form you will receive an email that will allow you to make your electronic payment.

If your certificate expires 6/30/2025 or after and you have one of these subjects on your certificate, you will need to complete the NEW 40 point reading course requirement. This 40 point course is included in the total 120 required renewal points. The course called Exploring Structured Literacy meets this requirement and is offered by the district twice a year, or may be taken as a facilitated course through FDLRS. This course also meets the 20 point SWD requirement (total of 40 points, not 60).
