The Jensen Beach High School Air Force Junior ROTC unit has soared to new heights this year, earning the prestigious Distinguished Unit Award from the Department of the Air Force. This recognition reflects the cadets’ dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence both in and out of the classroom.

Adding to the celebration, both of the unit’s instructors—Colonel Colbert and Senior Master Sergeant Johnson—have been honored with the 2026 Department of the Air Force JROTC Outstanding Instructor Award. This award recognizes their exceptional leadership, mentorship, and dedication to providing outstanding instruction to their cadets. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping the program’s success and inspiring students to reach their full potential.

The cadets themselves have demonstrated remarkable service and achievement. Collectively, they contributed 2,774.14 hours of community service this school year, averaging 22 hours per cadet. Their commitment to giving back to the community is matched only by their performance in the classroom and during inspections. During their annual evaluation, the corps earned an "Exceeds Standards" rating—the highest possible.

With these accomplishments, the Jensen Beach AFJROTC continues to set the standard for excellence, proving that teamwork, leadership, and service are at the heart of their mission.
