JBHS Murals 2026

By Brooklyn Langlois and Alanna Roux

New murals on the Jensen Beach High School campus are getting lots of attention from students and staff. Created by art teacher Mr. Gorostiaga and student artists, the murals were designed to brighten the school and bring a fresh perspective to campus. Mr. G said he wanted to “beautify” the school while introducing students to the style and creativity often seen in big-city street art.

To plan the murals, students studied examples of street art and worked together to create colorful, eye-catching designs. Their goal was to turn ordinary school walls into something creative, unique, and inspiring.

Throughout the project, students helped sketch ideas, choose references, and paint different parts of the mural. Many said they were surprised but excited to be included in the project. Students also shared that working together made the experience more fun and helped them meet new people. Some students created original ideas for the murals, while others added details as the artwork developed.

Many students said they were especially proud of features like the trees, flowers, oranges, and greenery included in the design. While there were challenges, including repainting letters and reaching high areas, the project gave students a chance to collaborate and leave a lasting impact on campus.

Mr. G hopes to continue creating projects like this in the future to make the school even more colorful and creative.
