The Martin County School District is proud to share that Jensen Beach High School has been named Florida's Most Positive Athletic Department by Positive Athlete, a national organization dedicated to recognizing student-athletes, coaches, and athletic programs that demonstrate character, leadership, and service.
The recognition is part of Positive Athlete's inaugural statewide awards program in Florida. For the first time in the organization's history, student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, athletic directors, and athletic departments across the state were honored for the positive impact they make both on and off the field.
In addition to Jensen Beach High School earning the distinction of Florida's Most Positive Athletic Department, Jensen Beach High School student-athlete Lauren Hill was recognized as one of the state's Most Positive Student-Athletes.
Positive Athlete recipients are selected based on qualities that define how positive athletes "operate":
Optimistic
Puts Team First
Encouraging
Respectful
Admits Imperfections
True Heart for Others
Embraces Service
More than 15,000 nominations were submitted nationwide by coaches, principals, athletic directors, teachers, parents, and community members, representing more than 6,000 public and private high schools.
This recognition reflects what we strive for across the Martin County School District: developing the whole student-athlete. Through athletics, our students learn the importance of character, leadership, sportsmanship, service, and teamwork—skills that extend far beyond competition.
Congratulations to Lauren, the Falcon athletic program, and all those who contribute to creating positive experiences for student-athletes across our schools.
