Constitution Week officially begins on September 17, but Martin County School District students are already getting a head start!

Further highlighting the importance of this annual observance, the Martin County School Board approved the 2026 Constitution Week Proclamation at Tuesday night's meeting, developed with Ms. Rae Scimeca and the Halpatiokee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

As we recognize the 239th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, students across the District will spend the week learning about the document that continues to shape our nation and protect our freedoms.

The Martin County School Board has officially proclaimed September 25, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day throughout the Martin County School District! 💓📖

The day celebrates Dolly Parton’s remarkable contributions to children and literacy, along with the impact of programs like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in helping young readers build a lifelong love of books.

We’re proud to celebrate alongside the Children’s Services Council of Martin County and The Library Foundation of Martin County as we encourage our school community to read, dream and grow together.

Here’s how to join us on Dolly Parton Day, a.k.a. 9/2-5:
📚Read for at least 30 minutes on September 25.
📖Get a library card and make your next great read easier to find.
💗Have a child age 5 or under? Sign up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to receive free books at home.

And, of course, dress the part! Think pink, rhinestones, boots and big hair. Or, dress in your favorite college team to represent the coat of many colors! 👢✨💕

📚✨ Math in Action in Ms. Solomon’s 5th Grade Class! ✨📚 Our mathematicians are working hard on subtracting decimals and using hands-on manipulatives to make their learning concrete and meaningful! Working in small groups allows us to meet students where they are, provide targeted support, and cater to their individual learning needs. We love seeing our students collaborate, problem-solve, and build confidence as mathematicians! 💙💛 Learning by doing = deeper understanding! 🚀📈

🌟 Learning, Laughing & Growing!🌟 Last week was full of hands-on learning and fun in our Pre-K ESE classroom! 💕 We explored feelings and emotions by creating our very own feeling faces and talking about how we can recognize and express different emotions. Our little mathematicians practiced important kindergarten math skills, including addition and finding the missing number in a sequence. 🔢➕ We also got to put our fine-motor and name-recognition skills to work! ✋✨ The children dug through playdough to find the letters in their names and then used them to create their very own name bracelets. 🔤💎 So much learning happened through play, creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on exploration! Sunday Announcements- August 30, 2026

✨ What a busy week of learning, exploring, creating, and growing! ✨ Our little learners were "line experts" as we practiced straight and curved lines, became letter detectives hunting for the letters in our names, and explored the letter "M"!🔤🕵️‍♀️ We strengthened those fine-motor muscles with glue, scissors, and salt painting, then used shapes to match, build, and create our own unique designs! ✂️🧂🔺🟢 We also worked on cooperative learning and teamwork, practicing how to play, share, help, and create together. 🤝💕 We got our bodies moving with gross-motor fun and wagon rides at recess because learning doesn't always happen sitting at a table! 🌞💪 And we had a very special helper join us this week! 💕 The kids had so much fun working and playing with Addison, Mrs. P's daughter! She jumped right in, helped with activities, and brought lots of smiles to our classroom. 🥰 We wrapped up our week with a 5 Senses Tasting Table!👅🍓🍋🥨 We tasted, explored, described, and had fun using our senses to discover something new.
