๐Ÿš€ A Rocket Proud Morning! ๐Ÿš€ Ms. Norwood was honored to represent J.D. Parker Elementary School of STEAM & Aerospace at the Martin County School Districtโ€™s State of the District Breakfast this morning! A special thank you to Superintendent Michael Maine for pioneering meaningful work to strengthen the connections between our schools, students, and community partners. These partnerships open doors for our students and help connect learning in the classroom to real-world opportunities. Ms. Norwood was also excited to have Mr. Andrew McBean, Airport Director, join her as her guest. His support and enthusiasm for J.D. Parkerโ€™s aerospace and aviation focus sparked exciting conversations about how we can continue expanding opportunities and authentic experiences for our Rockets. โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿš€ We are excited about what the future holds as we build partnerships that inspire our students to dream big, explore new possibilities, and see themselves in the careers of tomorrow. The future is taking off at J.D. Parker! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™ Mission: Launch Excellence

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธCELEBRATING CONSTITUTION WEEK๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Constitution Week officially begins on September 17, but Martin County School District students are already getting a head start!

Further highlighting the importance of this annual observance, the Martin County School Board approved the 2026 Constitution Week Proclamation at Tuesday night's meeting, developed with Ms. Rae Scimeca and the Halpatiokee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

As we recognize the 239th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, students across the District will spend the week learning about the document that continues to shape our nation and protect our freedoms.

The Martin County School Board has officially proclaimed September 25, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day throughout the Martin County School District! ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ“–

The day celebrates Dolly Partonโ€™s remarkable contributions to children and literacy, along with the impact of programs like Dolly Partonโ€™s Imagination Library in helping young readers build a lifelong love of books.

Weโ€™re proud to celebrate alongside the Childrenโ€™s Services Council of Martin County and The Library Foundation of Martin County as we encourage our school community to read, dream and grow together.

Hereโ€™s how to join us on Dolly Parton Day, a.k.a. 9/2-5:
๐Ÿ“šRead for at least 30 minutes on September 25.
๐Ÿ“–Get a library card and make your next great read easier to find.
๐Ÿ’—Have a child age 5 or under? Sign up for Dolly Partonโ€™s Imagination Library to receive free books at home.

And, of course, dress the part! Think pink, rhinestones, boots and big hair. Or, dress in your favorite college team to represent the coat of many colors! ๐Ÿ‘ขโœจ๐Ÿ’•

๐ŸŒŸ Learning, Laughing & Growing!๐ŸŒŸ Last week was full of hands-on learning and fun in our Pre-K ESE classroom! ๐Ÿ’• We explored feelings and emotions by creating our very own feeling faces and talking about how we can recognize and express different emotions. Our little mathematicians practiced important kindergarten math skills, including addition and finding the missing number in a sequence. ๐Ÿ”ขโž• We also got to put our fine-motor and name-recognition skills to work! โœ‹โœจ The children dug through playdough to find the letters in their names and then used them to create their very own name bracelets. ๐Ÿ”ค๐Ÿ’Ž So much learning happened through play, creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on exploration!
