Beginning January 1, 2026, ALL Florida residents (who live inside and outside of Martin County) will have the opportunity to apply to attend any school in the A-Rated Martin County School District for the 2026-2027 school year through School Choice. This opportunity is available for all grade levels, including VPK and Kindergarten. The new school year begins August 10, 2026.
Per School Board policy, Martin County students are given priority over students who do not reside in Martin County. Students accepted into a school within the Martin County School District can continue attending through the highest grade level offered on the school’s campus. Families should note that students attending an out-of-zone school must provide their own transportation.
Families interested in applying can find additional details here. To apply for enrollment at school of their choice beginning January 1, 2026, families must complete the online application found in the FOCUS Parent Portal.
Applications completed by March 31, 2026, will receive the highest priority.
If a school or grade level at the school is at capacity, applicants will be placed on a waitlist.
If your student is new to the Martin County School District:
Families who are new to the Martin County School District, including those applying for VPK or Kindergarten, must first create a FOCUS Parent Portal Login, then complete one of the following forms, depending on their enrollment status:
Pre-Registration for Enrollment
For families new to the District who wish to pursue School Choice (a school outside of their zoned school) before completing the document uploads associated with full enrollment.
New Student Registration (Full Registration)
For students new to the District who are ready to complete full enrollment, including required document uploads.
Once either form has been completed, families wishing to pursue School Choice (choosing a school outside of their zoned school) may then access and submit the School Choice Application 2026–27, located under the child’s name in the left-side menu of the FOCUS Parent Portal.

Current MCSD Students Requesting to Attend an Out-of-Zone School:
If you are a current MCSD student wishing to attend a school other than the school you are zoned for, you do not need to complete the Pre-Registration for Enrollment Form. Please proceed by logging into the FOCUS Parent Portal and completing the School Choice Application 2026-27 in the left side menu.
If you are planning to attend your home-zoned school, or the same school that you attended during the 2025-2026 school year, you do not need to re-enroll or complete the School Choice Application 2026-27.
