Work is underway at Murray Middle School as crews begin demolishing Buildings 10 and 18, marking the first visible phase of the school's rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Milton.
The Martin County School Board approved Phase I of the Murray Middle School Capital Project at its June 16, 2026, meeting. Phase I includes demolishing Buildings 10 and 18, along with site preparation and infrastructure work that will support future construction. The overall project includes a new administration and media center building, additional classroom spaces for band, chorus, and agriculture science programs impacted by Hurricane Milton, gym renovations, site improvements, and a new chiller plant.
The work will restore and improve learning spaces while creating updated facilities that will serve students and staff for years to come.
As work continues, the District will provide updates as additional phases of the rebuilding project move forward. Watch the video below for a look at the first phase of construction at Murray Middle School.
