โญCELEBRATING GOOD CHARACTERโญ

It's Character Counts! Week, and in the Martin County School District, we are proud to recognize the importance of good character in shaping future leaders and building strong, respectful communities.

Grounded in the six pillars of Characterโ€”trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenshipโ€”our students are learning that excellence isnโ€™t just about achievement, but about integrity and heart. ๐Ÿ’™

Character Counts Week
๐Ÿ“šโœจ Mrs. Mooreโ€™s 4th graders wrapped up Unit 2 in reading, which explored the question โ€œHow do we reveal ourselves to others?โ€ Students brought this idea to life by writing and performing dramatic scenes that recreated key moments from Because of Winn-Dixie. Through their performances, they captured the heart of the story and showed how charactersโ€”and peopleโ€”reveal who they are through actions, words, and relationships. ๐ŸŽญ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿพ Third Grade PBL Spotlight! ๐Ÿพ Our third graders recently wrapped up an exciting Project-Based Learning (PBL) unit that combined what theyโ€™ve been learning in reading and science! After studying animal adaptations and animal classification, students worked collaboratively in groups to create their own textbook-style pages featuring a specific animal. Using their AVID roles, each team member contributed to researching, writing, and designing pages filled with text features that teach readers about their animalโ€™s environment, adaptations, and classification. We are so proud of their teamwork, creativity, and the amazing knowledge they shared through this project! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ“˜๐Ÿง
