🏄‍♀️🌊SURF'S UP FOR SCHOOL BREAKFAST🌊🏄‍♂️ National School Breakfast Week brought a tidal wave of excitement to start the day with a healthy breakfast! Our Food and Nutrition Services team created a splash in their cafeterias with fun decorations while serving up healthy breakfast options so our students in grades PreK-12 could ride the wave of success throughout the school day. Students who participated in #NSBW24 had the chance to win some totally awesome prizes, like underwater cameras! Yesterday, two of our bands, the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band, traveled to Vero Beach High School to perform at the annual FBA Concert Band Music Performance Assessment (MPA). We are excited to share that Concert Band received an overall Excellent rating and Wind Ensemble received straight Superior ratings and a perfect score! This is the first time in 5 years that a band from SFHS has received straight Superior ratings at Concert MPA.

Thrilled to share some incredible news from our choral department! 🌟 Earlier in February, they had 7 students ace their solos, qualifying for states. Special shoutouts to Logan Jacobs and Natalia Caraballo for being chosen to represent Florida in the Southern State Honor Choir in Louisville, Kentucky - you've made South Fork proud! But wait, there's more! Yesterday, during the Musical Performance Assessments (MPA), our Carillon (top choir), Advanced Treble, and Concert Chorale showcased their exceptional talents. 🎶 Each choir performed two pieces before a panel of three judges, followed by a sight-reading challenge, and guess what? Carillon and Advanced Treble soared to the top with the highest score of SUPERIOR, with Advanced Treble nailing a perfect score! Our Concert Chorale also shined brightly with an Excellent rating. These amazing achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and Mrs. Rogers. 🍎CHOOSING THE BEST🍎 During an Emergency Meeting held this evening, the Martin County School Board voted to add Martin County High School and Jensen Beach High School to the list of approved Controlled Open Enrollment schools for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This means in AND out-of-county residents can apply to ANY MCSD-operated school during the application period that will open tomorrow, March 1 – March 31. For high school students, applications for signature programs are no longer required as part of the Choice process, but must be completed if your child would like to be considered for entrance into a signature program. ℹ️Students accepted into a Controlled Open Enrollment choice option must have their own mode of transportation to and from school. SFHS Alert: Great news for students and families! SFHS, in conjunction with the MCSD Food and Nutrition Services Department, is pleased to offer an "After School Supper Program" for all students who stay after school for tutoring, activities, or sports. This means our cafeteria will be open from 3:15-3:45 each day and provide a FREE nutritious meal to all students who stay after school for a program. This begins on Monday, March 4th and runs Monday-Thursday along with our activity busses. We are thrilled to provide this opportunity for students to help encourage them to stay for tutoring and activities!

🌟 Exciting Weekend Alert! 🌟 Our SFHS Army JROTC cadets had an incredible time this past weekend at the University of Central Florida! Not only did they get the chance to observe the adrenaline-pumping Iron Knight ROTC Raider Competition, but we also had the honor of touring the esteemed UCF ROTC Battalion and exploring the beautiful UCF Campus. 🔍 From witnessing the strength and dedication of competitors in the raider competition to getting an up-close look at the ROTC program's excellence, our cadets gained invaluable insights and inspiration. The campus tour was the cherry on top, offering us a glimpse of life at UCF, with its vibrant community and state-of-the-art facilities. 💡 This experience has been eye-opening for our cadets, showing them the myriad opportunities that await in higher education and military training. 🏆MAKING HISTORY🏆 Our athletes continue to make history and break records! This past weekend, Jensen Beach High School Senior Carolina O'Hara became the State Runner Up in her weight class during the Florida High School Athletic Association Girls Weightlifting State Championship tournament! Carolina also earned 2nd in the Traditional event, 3rd in the Olympic event, AND broke two of her personal records. She is the first JBHS weightlifting athlete to make it to the top three at States! At the same time, South Fork High School Junior Paisley Bergen placed 3rd in her weight class and also broke a personal record! Her teammates, Bliss Weiler and Kaley McElligot placed 7th and 9th in the Traditional event. Martin County High School student Madison Montgomery also placed in the top 10!
