🚀 AVID Elective Students Soar in Reindeer Racing Balloon STEAM Challenge! 🦌✨ 🌍 Exploring the global excitement of reindeer racing, our AVID elective students dove into a thrilling Balloon STEAM Challenge! 🚀 From Lapland to Alaska, they discovered the unique traditions and techniques that make reindeer racing a spectacle around the world. 🔍 In this hands-on lesson, our future engineers and scientists crafted their very own balloon reindeer rockets, ready to dash toward the finish line! 🎈🦌 The challenge not only fueled their creativity but also ignited a passion for understanding the principles of thrust and friction in action. 🚀💨 As the balloon reindeer rockets took flight, students experienced firsthand the incredible force of Newton's 3rd law of motion! 🔄💫 Excitement and laughter filled the room as these young minds witnessed their creations zooming towards victory. #MCSDwinterspirit

This standards based lesson asked students to use their own original designs with patterns, matching color schemes and a holiday message. 'Tis the season of generosity! Peer Forward orchestrated a special event on campus today, welcoming representatives from the Kovner Foundation to engage with our juniors and share insights about their incredible scholarship opportunity. Adding to the festive atmosphere, South Fork Alum Ava Martucci, a former Peer Leader and recipient of this scholarship during her junior year, shared her inspiring journey with our students. 🐾⚽️ A WIN FOR THE ANIMALS⚽️🐾 Last night was no ordinary soccer game between South Fork High School and Martin County High School's girls' varsity teams. Student-athletes came up with the idea to waive the entrance fee for all spectators who brought an animal toy or food. It was a huge success! All the toys and food will be donated to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast! The game ended in a scoreless tie, but the players and community came out with an extraordinary win!
