Today’s SAC meeting is canceled. The last 2022-2023 School Year meeting will be on May 8th at 3:30 p.m. in the Plaza.

There will not be a SAC meeting tonight as many of us are attending an off-site training all day today. Our next meeting, and final meeting of the year, will be held on May 8 at 3:30 in the SFHS Plaza.

🎓#MCSDSENIORSTORIES🎓 This evening, we are shining a spotlight on South Fork High School senior Benjamin McCulley! "Ben is an International Baccalaureate Senior at South Fork High School," proud parent Charlene shared. "He is very active in clubs, including the president of National Honor Society and president of the Spanish National Honor Society. Ben is highly involved with Youth in Government and was appointed Florida’s Chief Justice. At home he enjoys playing bass, electric, acoustic and Classical guitar." Benjamin plans to attend the University of Miami Honors Program and Healthcare Mentorship. "Emily takes great pride in belonging to the Martin County 4-H Association since she was seven years old," proud mom Wendy shared. "That experience has made it possible for her to compete and show livestock all over Florida. We are so proud of her and couldn't of done this without the help of some amazing teachers. "Ty has been fortunate to have incredible teachers along the way, starting at Palm City Elementary School and through the International Baccalaureate Program at South Fork. He is especially thankful for his Spanish teachers—Ms. Resciniti, Ms. Troisi, and Ms. Alvayay—who have instilled his love of the language. Ty is excited to explore all of the things that Miami has to offer." 🎓#MCSDSENIORSTORIES🎓 This evening, we are shining a spotlight on South Fork High School senior Joseph Rizzo! "My favorite teachers are Mrs. Shepman and Mr. Crum.," Joseph shared. "They have shown me my love of plants and all things agricultural. They showed me that getting my hands dirty fixing things is fun and being the only one knowing how to use our reel grinder and bed knife sharpener. I have been in band for four years and have been in drumline for all four of them, playing snare for three of them and the band captain my senior year." Joseph will be attending Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, majoring in Agricultural Education. 🎉Congratulations, Joseph! 🎉 We are so proud of you! Today 55 SFHS Juniors & Seniors attended The Career Connect Conference. This even helped to build a connection between our students & participating businesses and education advisors from the Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin counties.

🎓#MCSDSENIORSTORIES🎓 This afternoon, we are shining a spotlight on South Fork High School seniors Adriaan and Sebastian Van Agtmaal-Bonet! "Time management at its best! It is often hard to show your kids how much more they can do when they stay focused," proud mom Lisandra shared. "For us and our twins Adriaan & Sebastian, it took some time, many encouraging talks, and the amazing Staff of the IB Program of SFHS to get the message through. Now as seniors, we look back and the boys can see that they both had challenges with the IB Program but never gave up on it. They did not let their SFHS Swim & Dive Team down either. They still added to their routine: working responsibly at the YMCA of The Treasure Coast as Summer Camp Leaders, After-School Care and Lifeguarding. And finally, their senior schoolmates bestowed upon them both the “Life of the Party” superlative! It’s been a fun and very well-balanced act. The IB Program was doable after all, and having fun remained in the equation! Adriaan & Sebastian have both had tremendous personal growth; the challenges conquered have given them more self confidence, have helped them expand their critical thinking, and have set them on a great academic path with a wonderful future ahead." 🎉Congratulations, Adriaan and Sebastian! 🎉 We are so proud of you! Next week, art students from Jensen Beach High School, South Fork High School, Martin County High School and Clark Advanced Learning Center will be participating in Plein Air Arts Day! Hosted by MartinArts, Arts Day is a fun and educational program where students learn different art techniques from local artists and create their own masterpieces outside in the beautiful downtown Stuart!
