🍎LEAVING A LEGACY🍎 On Tuesday night, Superintendent Michael Maine and the Martin County School Board celebrated the career of South Fork High School's Ms. Tera Parsons. Ms. Parsons has served the Martin County School District for 32 amazing years. She is a product of MCSD, as she is an alum of Warfield Elementary School, Indiantown Middle School and South Fork High School. Being a student in the District helped point her to her dream career: teaching in the District she grew up attending. She started her career at the very first school where she began her educational journey, Warfield Elementary. Ms. Parsons put her heart and soul into teaching. "Tera is the epitome of an educational professional and, most importantly, one of the most amazing ESE teachers I’ve worked with in my lifetime," friend and colleague Julie Butler shared. Thank you, Ms. Parsons, for your passion for education and for always pitching in to help out your teammates over the last 32 years! 🍎ASPIRING TO GROW AS LEADERS🍎 Ten Martin County School District educators have earned their School Principal Certification after attending the Aspiring Principal Academy. Their journey started last summer during a two-week-long intensive and continued throughout the past year. During this academy, these aspiring principals had quarterly site visits and full-day learning sessions. They also implemented a "change project" at their schools. The Professional Development team created this academy with the goal of building an innovative, rigorous, practical and comprehensive, collaborative and reflective program to help prepare these educators to be future principals. Each educator finished the program as an even stronger leader. Hard work, perseverance and the Bulldog spirit helped these cadets lead the way and WIN during JRTOC Summer Camp! The South Fork High School recently returned from summer camp and came home with huge accomplishments! The all-female cadet company won “Honor Company” – beating out two all-male and another all-female company. One of the cadets, Rylie Siemsen, was ranked Top 10% of all cadets in attendance and received an award! Congratulations, Bulldogs!

The Martin County School District held its oath of office ceremony for Superintendent Michael Maine this afternoon. Superintendent Maine’s family joined school district staff for the occasion, allowing many of the employees in attendance the opportunity to meet and greet while enjoying delicious refreshments provided by our Food & Nutrition Services team. The Martin County School Board named Mr. Maine the Martin County School District’s Superintendent of Schools in April 2023, approving a four-year initial employment contract as part of the measure. #ALLINMartin👊

🎓#MCSDSENIORSTORIES🎓 This afternoon, we are shining a spotlight on South Fork High School senior Ava Martucci! "My daughter, Ava Martucci, has remained top 1% of her class for four years," proud mom Ruth shared. "Not only is she involved as the south fork NHS president, SNHS activities director, peer forward Captain, Varsity Cheerleading captain, and possessed a internship with a City of Stuart attorney. As a sophomore, she created her own chapter of Becca's closet, a nonprofit organization collecting and donating prom dresses and suits to individuals facing financially difficulty. She partnered with a district social worker and has extended Becca's closets influence into multiple districts, including Saint Lucie and Palm Beach. Each year she has donated 100+ dresses via her website and instagram. She has worked as a waitress and hostess for two years at Nancy’s Pizza and received eight scholarships in one night at South Fork's scholarship night, totaling over 15 scholarships in her senior and junior years combined. She was also named South Fork's Student Volunteer of the Year. I am so proud of what she has accomplished and how she has remained so dedicated even after the loss of her father in 2016. Go gators, and I am so proud of you, Ava." Ava plans to attend the University of Florida, majoring in Philosophy and Spanish, on a Pre-Law track with the end goal of becoming an International Human Rights Attorney. 🎉Congratulations, Ava! 🎉 We are so proud of you! A scholarship has been created in honor of Annmarie Schwarz, our teacher, friend, and loved one. It will be awarded annually to a graduating senior currently attending South Fork High School, Martin County High School, or Jensen Beach High School who is active in high school theatre and plans to study either theatre, technical theatre, or education in college. Annie had a B.A. in Drama from Shorter University in Rome, Georgia, and was the founder of the Drama program at South Fork High School, where she taught for 28 years. Annmarie also directed a summer drama day camp, Broadway Babies, giving generations of children in Martin County a lifelong love of theatre.
