Kindergarten Kick Off 2026

The Martin County School District is rolling out the red carpet for its newest learners during Kindergarten Kick-Off, a special orientation event designed to help families prepare for the exciting journey into kindergarten.

Families of children who will be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2026, are invited to attend Kindergarten Kick-Off on Wednesday, February 4, at 5:30 p.m., at their child’s future elementary school. This year’s event features a fun, movie premiere–inspired theme as the District proudly debuts its Class of 2039 stars.

During the evening, families will have the opportunity to tour their child’s future school, meet the school leadership team, visit a kindergarten classroom, and learn how to best support a smooth and successful transition into elementary school. Staff will also share important information about school meals, transportation, Extended Day (after-school care) programs, and other services available to support students and families.

Registration for the 26-27 school year for ALL grade levels opened January 1, 2026, and assistance with enrollment will be available on-site during the event. Families are encouraged to bring any required documents and take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions and receive personalized support. A complete list of required enrollment documents is also available online.

Parents and caregivers can view attendance boundary maps to determine their child’s home-zoned school based on their address. Families may also apply to attend a different school through School Choice.

Kindergarten Kick-Off is designed to ensure families feel informed, welcomed, and confident as they prepare to take this important first step in their child’s educational journey.

For additional questions, families are encouraged to contact their child’s future elementary school directly.
