MCSD held its 57th annual Lillian A. Dassori Elementary Spelling Bee on December 14, 2022. 

Stellar spellers from all twelve of the District's elementary schools participated in seven rounds of competition. Contestants tackled the spelling of words such as "aardvark," "anathema," "celestial,” “wherewithal,” and "ipso facto."The winning word was "eschew."

On November 1, 2022, MCSD hosted its annual perfect score recognition ceremonies for elementary, middle and high school students.  

One hundred fifteen (115) students earned a perfect score on one or more statewide assessments during the 2021-2022 school year!

Twenty-eight outstanding employees were honored during the Martin County School District's annual School-Related Employee of the Year Ceremony on November 29, 2022. The event was held at the Stuart Corinthian Yacht Club in Stuart, Florida. 

Part of the Florida Department of Education's (FLDOE) collection of employee appreciation programs, the School-Related Employee of the Year program recognizes outstanding educational support personnel for the significant contributions they make to their schools or departments.

Twice a year, Spectrum Academy partners with the Stuart Police Department and hosts a delicious cookout for its students.

The cookout celebrates not only the partnerships between Spectrum Academy, Stuart PD and the Martin County School District, but also the hard work exhibited by Spectrum students throughout the semester!

SeaWind Elementary School hosted a patriotic ceremony for local heroes in recognition of Veterans Day.

The 2022-2023Teacher of the Year Awards Celebration was held on November 4, 2022, at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center.

The night was filled with good food, great dancing, and even better camaraderie among colleagues.

The Martin County School District named its 2022-2023 Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year on October 27, 2022, honoring two veteran educators with the awards.

Jeff Raimann of Indiantown Middle School was named Principal of the Year and Tami De James of Murray Middle School was recognized as the Assistant Principal of the Year. Superintendent John D. Millay and members of the District leadership team traveled to each school to deliver the surprise announcements.

During Pinewood Elementary School's Family STEM Night, students and families participated in fun activities related to science and mathematics. Students enjoyed displaying what they've learned by showcasing science and math projects they've worked hard on during the semester.

October 11, 2022, was a bittersweet day for MCSD and its Environmental Studies Center, as Shelby, the loggerhead sea turtle, was released into the Atlantic Ocean. Shelby, who is now three years old, has resided at the District’s one-of-a-kind Environmental Studies Center since she was a three-month-old hatchling! Shelby has provided hundreds of Martin County students with first-hand knowledge of her species as she happily swam around her tank each day.
