The Martin County School Board approved Superintendent John D. Millay's recommended administrative reassignments for the 2022-2023 school year during its meeting on May 17, 2022.
"A great deal of consideration has been given in looking at our leadership strengths and the unique needs of each school," Dr. Millay shared with the School Board. "I truly believe that these changes will help us continue to achieve success and move the Martin County School District forward."
The following reassignments will take effect on July 1, 2022:
- Mr. Michael Maine, current Executive Director of Principals and Professional Standards, will become Deputy Superintendent. Mr. Maine will work closely with Dr. Ginger Featherstone, the District's current Deputy Superintendent, through her retirement later this year.
- Mr. Timothy Aitken, current Principal at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School, will become Principal at South Fork High School.
- Mr. David Axton, current Assistant Principal at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School, will become Assistant Principal at Hobe Sound Elementary School.
- Mr. Jay Blavatt, current Principal at South Fork High School, will become Principal at Willoughby Learning Center.
- Mr. Justin Browning, current Interim Principal at Willoughby Learning Center, will become Assistant Principal at Felix A. Williams Elementary School.
- Mr. Andrew Connolly, current Assistant Principal at South Fork School, will become Assistant Principal at Jensen Beach High School.
- Ms. Lauren Gifford, current Interim Principal at Port Salerno Elementary School, will become Principal at the school.
- Ms. Lauren Graff, current Assistant Principal at Martin County High School, will become Assistant Principal at Jensen Beach High School.
- Ms. Jennifer Michels, current Principal at Jensen Beach Elementary School, will become Principal at SeaWind Elementary School.
- Mr. Michael McLeod, current Assistant Principal at Felix A. Williams Elementary School, will become Assistant Principal at Martin County High School.
- Dr. Carlos Perez, current Assistant Principal at Martin County High School, will become Assistant Principal at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School.
- Ms. Jennifer Radcliff, current Principal at Pinewood Elementary School, will become Principal at Jensen Beach Elementary School.
- Dr. Nicole Rathnaw, current Principal at J.D. Parker Elementary School, will become Assistant Principal at Martin County High School.
- Ms. Jaime Thompson, current Assistant Principal at Jensen Beach High School, will become Assistant Principal at South Fork High School.
- Mr. Gary Sparks, Coordinator at Riverbend Academy, will become Interim Principal at Riverbend Academy.
- Mr. Jeffrey Umbaugh, current Principal at SeaWind Elementary School, will become Principal at Murray Middle School.
The District is seeking dynamic, collaborative and motivated candidates who hold Florida certifications in educational leadership and school principal/professional school principal for the following positions:
- Principal, Citrus Grove Elementary School
- Principal, Felix A. Williams Elementary School
- Principal, J. D. Parker Elementary School
- Principal, Pinewood Elementary School
- Principal, Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School
