🎉CELEBRATING IMPACTFUL CHANGES🎉 The Environmental Studies Council recently won a $100,000 grant from Impact100 Martin, which will benefit Martin County School District students! The Council applied for the grant in hopes of renovating the iconic Wet Lab at the one-of-a-kind Environmental Studies Center. Hundreds of Martin County students visit the Wet Lab every week, where they have a hands-on learning experience about the species in the local ecosystem. With the $100,000 grant from Impact100 Martin, the Council will be able to replace the pressure-treated wood with a longer-lasting wood composite, install a new AC system, and make the Wet Lab even safer and more comfortable overall for students, wildlife and ESC staff. 🎉CELEBRATING IMPACTFUL CHANGES🎉 The Education Foundation of Martin County recently won a $100,000 grant from Impact100 Martin, which will benefit Martin County School District students! EFMC applied for the grant in hopes to create career exploratory labs in at least two MCSD middle schools. The labs would be similar to the STEM Career Lab currently in Indiantown Middle School, which was paid for by Perkins Rural Innovation, MCSD funds and Title I funds. These career labs give students the opportunity to explore the possibilities of their futures at an earlier age through hands-on modules, preparing them for high school and beyond! 🎨CULTIVATING CREATIVITY🎨 It's that time of year when the weather can be picture-perfect! Next week, art students from Jensen Beach High School, South Fork High School, Martin County High School and Clark Advanced Learning Center will be participating in Plein Air Arts Day! Hosted by MartinArts, Arts Day is a fun and educational program where students learn different art techniques from local artists and create their own masterpieces outside in the beautiful downtown Stuart!
