Martin County High School Leadership students are grateful for the many adults who make their campus a safe, clean and nurturing learning environment. They celebrated #NationalCustodianDay by preparing festive snacks for the school's custodial staff and presented Principal Fabrizio with an edible arrangement in recognition of the start of #ThankAPrincipal Month.

๐STARTING WITH HELLO๐
Students and staff at Citrus Grove Elementary School celebrated "Start With Hello" Week with themed colored shirt days and community circles.
"Start With Hello" is an initiative of the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation that teachers young students how to be intentionally inclusive and connected to each other. It helps students build their social skills, break out of their shells and learn more about kindness.
CGE students enjoyed participating in an art contest which required them to draw pictures about what "Start With Hello" means to them. Check out the winners!

๐OBSERVING LEARNING๐
Superintendent John D. Millay kicked off the month of October by visiting Crystal Lake Elementary School yesterday. He observed students engaged in hands-on learning and practicing their skills via the iReady platform.
"I was able to observe lots of great instruction as well as many opportunities for student collaboration," Dr. Millay shared. "Going outside to watch students participate in recess was great - a little time to unwind is always fun!"

Pharmacist Ismael Serrano was on-site at the District's Instructional Center to administer voluntary vaccinations to employees today. Dr. Tracey Miller, Assistant Superintendent of Academics, was thrilled to see Ismael, as she was his principal many years ago at Port Salerno Elementary School. After vaccinating Dr. Miller, he also administered Superintendent John D. Millay's annual Flu shot.
Ismael is a proud Martin County School District graduate - we are happy to have him contributing to the wellness of our employees!

Students in Ms. Spooner's Advanced Placement (AP) Research class at Jensen Beach High School recently visited the Martin County Library System's Hoke Branch to learn more about the different resources offered by the library. Students learned how to access the library's catalog and databases for research they perform as part of their AP coursework. They were excited to receive their library cards and gain knowledge that will help them as they progress in their studies.

Our Adult Education team proudly represented what it means to encourage #MCSDPotential๐ during this week's Adult & Community Educators of Florida Conference!
"We are being educated to better serve ALL of the students we educate in our Martin County adult programs," Coordinator Melissa Eversdyke shared. "ACE of Florida inducted all adult education teachers into their Hall of Fame during the conference. We were celebrated for our resiliency and dedication over the past 18 months of uncertainty and change. We committed to adapting our teaching methods to ensure all students were equipped for success!"

The Food & Nutrition Services program at Jensen Beach High School was recently recognized by the Florida School Nutrition Association, Inc. (FSNA) for its remarkable breakfast program and engagement efforts!
