🚨BREAKING NEWS FROM THE BLUE LAGOON PLAYGROUND! 🚨 FAWE students have spotted a new feathered friend making regular morning appearances, and the investigation is officially underway! Meet HOOPS, our resident red-shouldered hawk who has been enjoying his mornings perched on the basketball hoop at our Blue Lagoon playground. 🏀🦅 Naturally, the name was a ✨slam dunk!✨ But our feathered friend comes with a few mysteries still up in the air... 👀 🔎 Is Hoops actually a she? Rumor has it there may be a nest nearby, but we're still gathering the facts! 🍽️ What's on the morning menu? Hoops has been spotted swooping down into the field to snag some breakfast snacks. 👀 And what's the deal with the sandhill cranes? Hoops seems to be keeping a close eye on our long-legged neighbors! 📰 WILDLIFE FUN FACT: Red-shouldered hawks have incredible eyesight and can spot potential prey from high above. They also have a distinctive call that sounds a bit like “kee-aah!” Listen closely, FAWE family... you might hear our newest celebrity before you see him! Will we uncover the truth about Hoops? 🩷🐟 PINK OUT SUCCESS! 🐟🩷 Our Sailfish community showed up in a BIG way last Friday! 💗 Between the pink shirts, school spirit, and generous hearts, our annual PINK OUT raised $334.64 for the JBHS Cradle Cancer Foundation! 🎗️ We are so proud of our Sailfish for coming together to support such a meaningful cause. Every dollar represents a little more hope, a little more support, and a whole lot of Sailfish spirit! A HUGE thank you to our students, families, and staff who helped make this fundraiser a success. 🧠➕ First graders put their thinking on display during a Building Thinking Classrooms activity as they reviewed addition facts!

Working collaboratively at vertical whiteboards, students used AVID strategies to communicate their thinking, problem-solve together, and support one another in reaching the correct answers.
