FAWE Staff Shout- Outs from Staff Members= Empowerment Through Community #FAWEPROUD๐๐
Mrs. Ocasio is a spirit lifter. She is always ready with a smile and a "good morning" I love talking to her. She always has a smile on her face when she comes through my room and she makes the most beautiful shirts.
Reminder to order your yearbook and purchase an ad for your fifth grader.

Ms. Soviero and Mrs. Czerwinskiโs classes have been marine biologists studying turtles from the Inwater Research Group Traveling trunk program. Students have measured and explored characteristics of Sea Turtles such as Loggerheads, Leatherbacks, Hawksbills, Kemp Ridleys and Green Sea Turtles. We were given models that displayed the many dangers our turtles face in our waters and students had to decide whether to rehabilitate or release their turtle after careful examination. Students problem solved ways to let the public know about how they can help keep our turtles from becoming endangered.

We wish all celebrating families peace, love and joy this Hanukkah season!

4th and 5th grade Gifted classes presented their Environmental PBLs (Project/Problem Based Learning) to their families and other visitors. After 3 weeks of researching, problem solving, and developing, students created solutions to environmental issues in local and global communities. Fourth grade focused on solving a local environmental problem and fifth grade centered their research on existing environmental laws, while creating new laws to protect our environment. Each group consisted of 3 or 4 students that focused on their own issue. Within each group individual students were assigned their own tasks, including Slide Presentation, Press Release, Display Board, Brochure, and Video. We would like to thank the Education Foundation for providing this opportunity to receive a grant through Wells Fargo Bank for Environmental/ Sustainability student projects. We are very proud of the hard work and dedication of all of our students!
