Healthy Routines
**Welcome Back Message from Dr. Jones** This year marks a big anniversary for our school. Hidden Oaks opened in the 1992-93 school year and our community has been trusting us with your children each year since then. This year we will be commemorating our 30th anniversary by focusing on gratitude to our community. We will be working within our school to strengthen our ties to one another and we will be working outside the walls of our school to say thank you to our Palm City and Martin County neighbors by committing to giving back through acts of service. Stay tuned for more information coming on our 30 acts of service for 30 years or 30 for 30 initiative in the weeks and months ahead. As you all know school is starting in the morning and I wanted to share a couple of helpful hints to get the day off to a positive start. All students will report to the gym first thing in the morning unless they are planning to eat breakfast in which case they may report to the café. This will afford our kids an air conditioned space to wait for first period, and it will help us make sure that all kids have an adult to ask for support as they start the school year. We do expect some delays in carline the first few days of school as new-to-hidden oaks families get used to our routines. If all parents can please remember to pull all the way forward in carline before letting your child out it will make the experience better for everyone-- and help us get through the back to school bumps more quickly. All students should come to school with emergency contact information in their backpack as well as their bus number if they use district transportation. This is especially important after a tiring first day of school when kids tend to forget which bus they need to board to get home. Your child will come home with a packet of papers and forms that need to be updated annually. Please look for these items tomorrow afternoon and send them back to school completed as soon as possible. We will have printed schedules available for students tomorrow morning, but we recommend that our students bring a printed or handwritten copy of their schedule with them to school to save a step on their busy and often very social first morning. We will continue our plan to provide new badges to all students this year. Students will be expected to wear their badge and lanyard each day. Any students who still have their badges from last year should wear them to school until the new badges are printed. It will likely take us a few days to get through the badging process so no students will receive a consequence for not having a badge until the process is complete. If you have any concerns or needs, please feel free to call our office. Our guidance staff has been working diligently to help address all issues this week and will be happy to help answer any questions. Mrs. Bradley is available for students whose last names fall between A and F, Mrs. Romano is available for students whose last names fall between G and M, and Ms. O’Connor is available for N-z. We are ready for another year of learning, working, and growing together and we can’t wait to welcome our sharks back to school tomorrow morning.

**7th Grade TDAP** Due to a glitch in the system all 7th grade parents received a message on Friday afternoon from our district office requesting updated immunization records. If you already submitted yours, feel free to ignore the message. Our school site sent a message this morning to parents from whom we are still awaiting forms. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

After August 12, the regular price for breakfast for K-5 and 6-12 students is $1.50. Lunch for K-5 is $1.85, and 6-12 is $2.10. Martin County School District @MCSDFlorida • Just now 🍽NOURISHING ALL STUDENTS FOR SUCCESS🍽 Check out the amazing transformation from an ordinary school bus to food service on wheels! @MCSDFlorida's Food & Nutrition Department, along with Wildar Golf Carts & Trailers went #ALLINMartin to feed kids who can't travel to feeding sites. lack of transportation to feeding sites is one of the largest barriers to meal access faced by students when school is not in session. Using Food Service funds, the District sought to address this challenge by remodeling an older school bus into a mobile kitchen and dining area for students. The new summer feeding bus, which is capable of seating more than 20 children, comes equipped with coolers and containers to ensure proper food storage requirements are met. Free onboard internet service and music are also part of the mobile feeding experience. All meals served will be free to children aged 18 and under. WATCH: https://youtu.be/gdehDYt5AjY
