📚 HSE Families ❤️
We wish you a week filled with love and special moments with those you cherish. This is a wonderful time for our students to enjoy reading each day and complete AR quizzes too, for the MCSD Turkey Trot Reading Race! 🦃
📚💻The Hobe Sound Library is open today from 12–8 PM and again on Saturday from 10–5:30 PM for any families looking to pick up new books.
We also hope our students are helping out at home and taking time to enjoy simple joys—reading, playing outside, board and card games, creating art, and listening to or making music.
Enjoy this time together. We are truly thankful for our HSE community! 💙🦅

Elevate Eagles with Evening Reading and more!
🎉 THANK YOU, AMAZING PARENTS! 🎉
Our school book fair was a huge success, and it’s all thanks to YOU! Your support helps put more books in the hands of our students and keeps the love of reading alive. 📚✨Every purchase you made helps our Media Center grow and keeps the joy of reading alive for our students. 🌟📖 Huge shout outs to my wonderful volunteers! THANK YOU!!
Stay tuned for more literary adventures—and until then, keep turning those pages! 📖💫
The tip today is to keep your child reading over the Thanksgiving break!
🎉 Sweet Incentive Alert! 🍰
Our district is cooking up something exciting! The classroom in each grade level that racks up the MOST points will win a PIE PARTY! 🥧
So, let’s make reading a big deal during the break! Encourage your child to dive into a book and take an AR quiz. They can do it on any computer—and don’t forget, the public library has computers ready for all patrons. All AR testing must be completed by the end of the day Sunday, November 30th.
So, let's go and turn pages into pies! 📚 ➡ 🥧

We had the very best surprise today when the PRIZE PATROL from EFMC showed up to announce that our very own Mrs. Crystal Brandt has been awarded the top grant prize! 🙌💛
Mrs. Brandt wrote an incredible grant that will benefit all four of our 2nd grade classrooms, providing hands-on materials that will make our math and reading lessons even more engaging, interactive, and alive for our students. 📚➕✨
We are SO proud of you, Mrs. Brandt! Thank you for your creativity, hard work, and dedication to making learning unforgettable for our kids! 👏💛

This month, the Treasure Coast Student Educator Recognition Council celebrates Mrs. Besing as our team member of the month of November.
We are so thankful for all the work Mrs. Besing does to keep our school running smoothly. From the big projects to the small tasks she quietly completes, she is truly the heart of our halls. She greets every student each morning with a smile, and she’s the familiar voice of dismissal that wraps up our school day with warmth and positivity. We appreciate you, Mrs. Besing!
💙🦅

Book Fair Parent Evening!
Please join us tonight and shop with your child. We will have items like posters, finger pointers and fun pens available that were not out for purchase when the students came through with their class. Some teachers have created a wish list while other asked that whatever parents chose for them they would be welcomed to receive it; if you are inclined to purchase for a teacher, tonight is the night! There will also be staff on hand to answer questions about FAST testing, FOCUS parent portal and any other questions you may have.
If you can't make it tonight you are able to shop the on-line Fair. Profits will still benefit the school. Available until Nov. 30th. Click here or copy and paste this in your browser https://mcsdfl-my.sharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/parrilj_martinschools_org/IQCd_caKfXEUQomTz9vm9xTDAcP_Q-RlJ1iSDuy0029SafE?e=E62KeB to access our home page, scroll to the bottom for online shopping.
Our evening hours are 4-6:30 pm. I hope to see you there.
PS tomorrow the fair is open in the morning for students who did not bring money earlier in the week.

From Saturday, November 22 through Sunday, November 30, our readers can earn Accelerated Reader (AR) points by cozying up with great books at home and completing AR quizzes. Every point counts!
🏆 MCSD team will crown one winning class per grade level (K–5) across all six participating MCSD schools.
🎉 The class in each grade level with the highest total AR points during the challenge will earn a PIE PARTY… plus some major bragging rights!
Thank you for supporting your children as they read at home — your partnership makes all the difference. Let’s turn the pages and trot to the finish! 🍁📖🥧

Friday is a make up day so students who didn't have money when their class first came to shop, can come in the moring up until noon.
Thank you again for your support.

Good news, Martin County families: Thanksgiving Break is almost here, and yes… students and teachers still have the entire week off (Nov. 24–28)! 🙌
Since we didn’t need to use any emergency makeup days this year, the full week remains wide open for rest, gratitude, and perhaps a piece of pie or two. 🥧🦃✨

Here is a cute idea!
Recipe Reading Night!
Turn dinner time into a literacy experience! Choose a simple recipe and have your child:
Read the ingredient list aloud.
Highlight or talk about action verbs like mix, stir, chop, and pour.
Go over the sequence the steps using ordinal words (first, next, then, finally) with your child.
Write or talke about a review of how it turned out or create a “family favorite” cookbook page.
Why it works: Cooking connects reading, writing, and real-world math—while building confidence
and conversation around text! (Taken from district newsletter)
Reminder! Book Fair is here!!! Book Fair Make Up day is Friday.

BOOK FAIR IS HERE!!!
Our book Fair starts tomorrow! Students will shop during their computer related arts time. Students and teachers are excited.
However, as you can imagine in this economic climate, there are many students who are not able to purchase a book. if you are able to contribute to our Share the Fair, I will be sure to find the students who are at an economic disadvantaged to utilize your donation and bring home their own book.
Here is the link to the Share the Fair donation page. Donating is easy to do, but please call me if you have any issues.
Thank you in advance.

We hope our Eagles enjoy these nutritious and delicious options! We are thankful to get to provide this support for our families. 😋✨

Students kicked off their newest Benchmark unit earlier this week with an exciting gallery walk—exploring ideas, sparking curiosity, and diving into rich conversations.
In this unit, our readers are exploring fictional texts and practicing the important academic skill of distinguishing between different points of view. 📚💡 It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they moved, read, discussed, and learned from one another.
Way to go, Grade 3! Keep shining, thinkers and readers! 💙😊

Our halls are blooming with an interactive Kindness Tree, filled with leaves that showcase the many thoughtful acts happening across our campus. 🍃✨
And a special shoutout to our Art Club students, who created beautiful kindness rock art—each stone painted with uplifting messages to brighten someone’s day. 🎨💬💙
At HSE, kindness grows here… every single day. 🌿🦅💙
Thank you to Mrs. Martter and Mrs. Stuart who led this work with our students.
