We are in the last week of the FFVP (Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program) for this school year. For this week, there will be Bananas, Baby Carrots w/Ranch and Apple Slices.
We hope everyone enjoyed each week with the many varieties of fruits and vegetables along with the Nutrition Nibbles with facts about the produce. It has been our pleasure to serve the students and teachers of Hobe Sound Elementary School.

Eagles Read at Home!
📚 Parents, let’s talk about reading! 📚
We can all agree that students need to know how to read—and read well. One important skill we often talk about in school is fluency.
What is fluency?
According to the Raising Literacy Newsletter (Spring 2026) published by the Florida Department of Education, “Fluency refers to a reader’s ability to read with accuracy, automaticity, and appropriate prosody (expression).”
In simple terms, fluency is the bridge between recognizing words and understanding what is being read. When students can recognize words automatically, they can focus more on the meaning of the text.
Reading with fluency means:
✅ Appropriate phrasing
✅ Natural rhythm
✅ Expression that sounds like everyday speech
How can you help at home?
📖 Encourage daily reading
📖 Model reading by reading yourself
📖 Read a sentence or phrase to your child, then have them read it back to you
📖 Establish a regular reading time
📖 Provide a variety of reading materials that interest your child
Together, we can help our students become confident, fluent readers! 💙

The 8th Annual Cardboard Boat Races took over the Martin County High School pool today—and yes, there were boats that floated… and boats that absolutely did not. 😂🌊
This year was extra fun with middle school joining for the first time!
🏆 Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School swept the speed awards in middle school and also took home Most Spirited Team!
🏆 Crystal Lake Elementary School dominated the elementary speed awards, while Bessey Creek Elementary School brought the spirit and earned Most Spirited Team!

HSE's 4H Club had their final meeting recently and they spent their time improving our school. Our garden received newly planted milkweed plants and we cannot wait to meet all of the butterflies they will support. Thank you to our 4H adults who provide this opportunity for our students to strengthen their passion.
