Hello HSE,
We are in the last week of the FFVP (Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program) for this school year. For this week, there will be Bananas, Baby Carrots w/Ranch and Apple Slices.
We hope everyone enjoyed each week with the many varieties of fruits and vegetables along with the Nutrition Nibbles with facts about the produce. It has been our pleasure to serve the students and teachers of Hobe Sound Elementary School.
Until next the next school year 2026-2027, have a wonderful and restful summer!

Thank you from,
Your cafeteria staff,
Tammy, Lorraine, Ali, Vanda and Mary

๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿšฆ Celebrating Our Rising Leaders on Campus! ๐Ÿšฆ๐ŸŒŸ

We love seeing leadership in action! ๐Ÿ’™ This past Friday morning during a campus-wide check, one of our newly minted Safety Patrol Captains was spotted taking a moment to check in on a fellow new Safety Patrol member ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š

Itโ€™s these small but powerful moments that show what leadership is all aboutโ€”looking out for others, stepping up, and taking responsibility with pride ๐Ÿซถโœจ

We are beyond thrilled to see our rising 5th graders stepping into their roles with such ownership over the safety and well-being of our school community ๐Ÿšธ๐Ÿ’ช Our campus is in great hands!

Keep shining, future leaders! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿš€

Eagles Read at Home!
๐Ÿ“š Parents, letโ€™s talk about reading! ๐Ÿ“š
We can all agree that students need to know how to readโ€”and read well. One important skill we often talk about in school is fluency.
What is fluency?
According to the Raising Literacy Newsletter (Spring 2026) published by the Florida Department of Education, โ€œFluency refers to a readerโ€™s ability to read with accuracy, automaticity, and appropriate prosody (expression).โ€
In simple terms, fluency is the bridge between recognizing words and understanding what is being read. When students can recognize words automatically, they can focus more on the meaning of the text.
Reading with fluency means:
โœ… Appropriate phrasing
โœ… Natural rhythm
โœ… Expression that sounds like everyday speech
How can you help at home?
๐Ÿ“– Encourage daily reading
๐Ÿ“– Model reading by reading yourself

๐Ÿ“– Read a sentence or phrase to your child, then have them read it back to you
๐Ÿ“– Establish a regular reading time
๐Ÿ“– Provide a variety of reading materials that interest your child

Together, we can help our students become confident, fluent readers! ๐Ÿ’™

Our LEGO Wall is here and officially up! ๐Ÿงฑ๐ŸŽ‰
A huge THANK YOU to Principal Elliott, who said โ€œYes!โ€ โ€” the PTA, who said โ€œWeโ€™ll pay!โ€ โ€” and Wendy, who said โ€œFred and I will put it up!โ€
The kids are absolutely excited. Weโ€™re hoping our fifth graders will have some time in the coming weeks to create on it, and fourth grader Victor is especially happy knowing heโ€™ll be here next year to enjoy all the benefits.
Thank you all for helping make this happen! The media center is even better than usual! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š
