Pizza Palooza time in First Grade! ๐๐
Students had great fun demonstrating their understanding of addition and subtraction within 20 with some serious pizza pizzazz. Way to go, Mrs. McIntyreโs Firsties! โโ

Mrs. Ryanโs 5th graders wrapped up Unit 2 with a creative โcharacter autopsyโ โ๏ธ๐ง
Students โdissectedโ a favorite character by designing and writing about what drives themโtraits, motivations, and big moments. They even taste-tested snacks and compared flavors to how a character might act. Sweet, salty, or spicyโฆ which trait fits? ๐ฌ๐ฟ๐ถ๏ธ

It's Character Counts! Week, and in the Martin County School District, we are proud to recognize the importance of good character in shaping future leaders and building strong, respectful communities.
Grounded in the six pillars of Characterโtrustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenshipโour students are learning that excellence isnโt just about achievement, but about integrity and heart. ๐

To mark the launch of UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute) Foundations, the Districtโs new research-based literacy program for Kโ2 students, the Elementary ELA team invited classrooms across the Martin County School District to help name the new UFLI unicorn mascot.
More than 212 creative entries were submitted, but one name stood out above the rest: TigerLilly, submitted by Mrs. Jill Boudreauโs kindergarten class at Jensen Beach Elementary School! ๐
TigerLilly now symbolizes the excitement, teamwork, and unstoppable dedication fueling early literacy growth across our A-rated District!

Mrs. Suggโs third graders went a little batty last week โ in the best way! Students played bat-themed math games, read in their very own โbat cave,โ and used AI to research different types of bats for their Bat-tastic reports.
And of course, no Bat Day would be complete without a snack โ bat-shaped Oreos made the perfect treat for our young scientists! ๐ช๐

Jensen Beach Elementary continues to live out its mission as the Center for Environmental Stewardshipโconnecting classroom learning to the local environment around them!
Through A Day in the Life of the Indian River Lagoon, and in partnership with ORCA (Ocean Research and Conservation Association), U. S. Sailing Center, and the Environmental Studies Center, young scientists collected water quality data and biological inventories to study the health of this vital local ecosystem.
Itโs hands-on, purposeful learning in action! Just one example of how our A-rated, unstoppable schools are preparing students for a bright future.
