JBE K-Kids Food Drive

Our JBE K-Kids are spreading kindness and giving back to our community. From October 22nd – 30th, we will be collecting nonperishable food items to benefit Elev8Hope, helping families in need right here in our community.

We encourage all of our Viking families to join us in making a difference. Every donation, big or small, helps.

🧂💧 Hands-On Science in 2nd Grade! 🔬 Mrs. Clark’s 2nd graders turned their classroom into a science lab! Using saltine crackers and water, students explored how food breaks down during digestion. 🎉 Meet one of our newest Vikings, Whitney Ramey! We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Ramey to JBE as our Computer Lab Assistant and a member of our Related Arts team! Whitney brings experience working with students across multiple classrooms and grade levels and has a passion for helping students build confidence with technology while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. As a mom of two elementary-aged children, Whitney knows the importance of patience, encouragement, and celebrating the small wins along the way. She loves helping students become more independent and feel successful in their learning. Originally from Cincinnati, Whitney is a huge Ohio State fan and a proud dog mom to three pups! In her free time, you can find her cheering on her kids, enjoying a beach day with her family, reading, crafting, or enjoying a McDonald’s Coke. 😊 We are so lucky Mrs. Ramey chose to be a Viking! Ms. Lunt’s class had so much fun kicking off Topic 5 in math! 🎉 Students worked together in groups to practice their sorting skills by organizing manipulatives based on shape, color, size, and more. Our mathematicians had a great time exploring, collaborating, and learning through hands-on activities! 💛💙

Ms. Zagars is a kindergarten teacher at JBE who helps make Vikings feel loved, supported, and excited to learn. 🧠 Building Thinking Classrooms in Action! Mrs. Snyder’s 5th grade mathematicians were putting their thinking to work with a Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) task focused on multiplying multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm. Students worked collaboratively to solve problems, explain their thinking, and learn from one another while building procedural fluency and strengthening their multiplication skills. 🌿 Little Scientists, Big Discoveries! 🔎 Our K–2 Vikings are taking their learning outdoors through nature journaling! Students are learning to slow down, look closely, ask questions, and capture what they notice through drawings and writing. From tadpoles and plants to Venus flytraps and butterfly metamorphosis, our young scientists are discovering just how much there is to learn when they take a closer look at the world around them. 🐸🌱🦋 Nature journaling brings so many skills together, building scientific thinking, strengthening writing, encouraging curiosity, and helping students develop a deeper connection to the natural world. Best of all, this is just the beginning! Celebrating respect and Viking spirit! 💙💛 Our latest Spirit Assembly was all about RESPECT! We came together as a school to celebrate what it means to show respect for ourselves, for others, and for our school community. We also recognized our Students of the Month who were selected for demonstrating respect and celebrated all the great things happening across JBE! We are proud of our Vikings for continuing to show that character counts both inside and outside the classroom. Way to go, Vikings! 💙💛

Learning together at JBE! 💙💛 At our latest School Advisory Council meeting, our SAC members had the opportunity to learn more about AVID and how its strategies support student learning at JBE. A special thank-you to Ashley Kemler from our Professional Learning Department for joining us to share more about AVID and lead our parents through some hands-on strategies so they could experience the learning for themselves! We are grateful for our SAC members who take the time to learn alongside us, ask questions, and stay engaged in the work happening at JBE. And of course, learning is always a little sweeter with cookies! 🍪 Thank you to everyone who joined us!

We were honored to welcome Mrs. Angel Robertson, Community Relations Specialist for U.S. Congressman Brian Mast, to JBE! 💙💛 Mrs. Robertson joined us for our Viking Artist Wall Reception, where we celebrated the creativity and talent of our student artists. She also toured our campus and had the opportunity to see some of the wonderful things happening throughout JBE. We loved sharing our school and Viking pride with Mrs. Robertson. Thank you for taking the time to visit JBE and support our students and school community! 🎨💙💛

Our Vikings were on the move! 🚲👟💙💛 We had a great morning celebrating Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day with our JBE Eco-Action Team and Martin MPO! Students and families walked, biked, and rolled their way to school while enjoying some fresh air and a fun start to the day. We loved seeing so many of our Vikings and their families participate while promoting healthy habits, safe routes to school, and environmental stewardship. Thank you to Martin MPO, our Eco-Action Team, and all of the families who joined us and helped make the morning such a success! 🌿🚲
