From creating different combinations with colored cubes to solving the mystery of a number thief, students worked together to think critically, explore new strategies, and have fun along the way. The day celebrates Dolly Parton’s remarkable contributions to children and literacy, along with the impact of programs like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in helping young readers build a lifelong love of books.
We’re proud to celebrate alongside the Children’s Services Council of Martin County and The Library Foundation of Martin County as we encourage our school community to read, dream and grow together.

This Friday, September 18, JBE will celebrate National AVID Day with a special Spirit Day! Students and staff are encouraged to wear the colors or gear of their favorite college, university, or JBE as we celebrate learning, goal setting, and dreaming big for the future!
You may be wondering, what is AVID? AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) helps students develop the skills, mindsets, and habits they need for success in school, college, careers, and life.
JBE is currently in our planning year to become an AVID Elementary School, joining other schools across the Martin County School District in implementing AVID. We are excited to begin this journey and look forward to the opportunities it will create for our Vikings as we help them build strong academic habits, set goals, develop confidence, and begin thinking about their futures.

We had such a great time at Popsicles on the Playground! It was wonderful seeing so many of our families come together to visit, play, and enjoy a sweet treat.

Learning through play in Ms. Thibodeau’s VPK class! 💙💛
Our littlest Vikings were busy building friendships, practicing social skills, and learning together during free play and small-group activities. 🧩✏️
During small group, students worked on listening and following directions while practicing tracing their names and making early prewriting strokes. These simple activities help build the fine motor skills and pincer grip needed for writing and drawing.
So much learning happens through play, conversation, and those little hands hard at work! We love watching our VPK Vikings learn and grow! 💙💛
💙💛 Volunteers Make a Difference at JBE!
We were so excited to welcome our Viking volunteers for our Volunteer Orientations! Our volunteers give their time, talents, and support in so many ways, and we are incredibly grateful for their willingness to be part of our school community.
