Jensen Beach High School claimed its first-ever traditional Florida High School Athletic Association Class 1A Wrestling championship this year, an achievement that had been many years in the making for three coaches who share deep roots.
For R.J. Costello (Athletic Director), Mike Sawtelle (teacher and coach) and Tom McMath (teacher and coach), the journey began many years ago at their shared alma mater - West Virginia University. They each found success as members of WVU Wrestling before reuniting in Martin County to mold generations of young scholar-athletes.
"There was a reason for every single one of us to be here [at Jensen Beach High School]," Coach Sawtelle shared.
