๐ A Rocket Proud Morning! ๐
Ms. Norwood was honored to represent J.D. Parker Elementary School of STEAM & Aerospace at the Martin County School Districtโs State of the District Breakfast this morning!
A special thank you to Superintendent Michael Maine for pioneering meaningful work to strengthen the connections between our schools, students, and community partners. These partnerships open doors for our students and help connect learning in the classroom to real-world opportunities.
Ms. Norwood was also excited to have Mr. Andrew McBean, Airport Director, join her as her guest. His support and enthusiasm for J.D. Parkerโs aerospace and aviation focus sparked exciting conversations about how we can continue expanding opportunities and authentic experiences for our Rockets. โ๏ธ๐
We are excited about what the future holds as we build partnerships that inspire our students to dream big, explore new possibilities, and see themselves in the careers of tomorrow.
The future is taking off at J.D. Parker! ๐๐

๐บ๐ธCELEBRATING CONSTITUTION WEEK๐บ๐ธ
Constitution Week officially begins on September 17, but Martin County School District students are already getting a head start!
Further highlighting the importance of this annual observance, the Martin County School Board approved the 2026 Constitution Week Proclamation at Tuesday night's meeting, developed with Ms. Rae Scimeca and the Halpatiokee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
As we recognize the 239th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, students across the District will spend the week learning about the document that continues to shape our nation and protect our freedoms.

The Martin County School Board has officially proclaimed September 25, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day throughout the Martin County School District! ๐๐

๐โจ Math in Action in Ms. Solomonโs 5th Grade Class! โจ๐
Our mathematicians are working hard on subtracting decimals and using hands-on manipulatives to make their learning concrete and meaningful!
Working in small groups allows us to meet students where they are, provide targeted support, and cater to their individual learning needs. We love seeing our students collaborate, problem-solve, and build confidence as mathematicians! ๐๐

๐ Learning, Laughing & Growing!๐
Last week was full of hands-on learning and fun in our Pre-K ESE classroom! ๐ We explored feelings and emotions by creating our very own feeling faces and talking about how we can recognize and express different emotions.
Our little mathematicians practiced important kindergarten math skills, including addition and finding the missing number in a sequence. ๐ขโ
We also got to put our fine-motor and name-recognition skills to work! โโจ The children dug through playdough to find the letters in their names and then used them to create their very own name bracelets. ๐ค๐
So much learning happened through play, creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on exploration! We are so proud of all the hard work and growing minds in our classroom! ๐๐โจ
