Good afternoon, parents. This is Mr. Fabrizio writing to share an important safety message in partnership with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
Yesterday, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office arrested one of our students following inappropriate and illegal sexual contact with another student. While the arrest and charges in and of themselves were extremely disheartening and upsetting to hear, the Sheriff’s Office notified us today that they believe there may be other victims.
Parents – please take a moment to speak with your child to ensure they know that if they believe they may have been a victim of inappropriate contact, the Sheriff’s Office wants to know. It is important that students know they may always come forward to report information to one of our School Resource Officers or another trusted adult on campus. In partnership with the Sheriff’s Office, we are here to support our students and ensure that they are and feel safe at all times. Tips or other concerns may be submitted via our school district website at www.martinschools.org or the MCSD mobile app by clicking the “submit a tip” button. Information that is submitted is received and investigated by the District’s safety team and law enforcement 24/7. Families may also contact the Martin County Sheriff’s Office at (772) 220-7060 to report information for investigation.
We appreciate the men and women of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office for their dedication to investigating all allegations and tips in a timely and extremely thorough manner. I know that I have made a few phone calls over the last several days that have not provided news that any of us want to hear. I want all of our families to be assured that Martin County High School takes safety, as well as transparency, very seriously. We appreciate your continued support of our school. Good afternoon, parents. This is Mr. Fabrizio writing to make you aware of an allegation that has been made involving a teacher at our school.
Recently, we became aware of a concerning photo that appears to depict one of our teachers. As a result of the nature of the photo, the District’s Office of Professional Standards was immediately notified and began an investigation. Florida Statutes and School Board Policy preclude me from providing specifics related to the investigation other than to share with you that we are aware of this photo and the appropriate investigatory steps are being taken. The teacher has been reassigned to a function within the school district office while the investigation is underway.
Parents- please be assured that the Martin County School District holds all employees to the highest standards of ethical, moral and legal conduct in accordance with the Principles of Professional Conduct for the Education Profession in Florida. There is no further action required of you as a result of this message. We appreciate your continued support of Martin County High School.

MCHS is pleased to offer the ASVAB Test on 11/19/21 for 10, 11, and 12th graders. This free test is administered by the military but there is no obligation to join the military. It tests a student’s vocational interests and career goals. Sign up in the guidance department.

High school families - Florida's State University System will host a virtual admissions tour for students and parents/caregivers on Wednesday, October 13, from 7-9 p.m. During this session, students and families will hear from deans and directors of admissions at FAMU, FAU, FGCU, FIU, Florida Poly, FSU, New College of Florida, UCF, UF, UNF, USF and UWF about their programs and processes. MCHS Academic Alert-The first quarter ends on Friday, October 15th. This is a critical time for all students to check their academic progress. Please check Focus with your son/daughter and encourage them to make-up and submit all tests/missing assignments. Remember...each quarter matters. With only five days left...there is still time to finish strong!
MCHS Final Homecoming Alert: Families-friendly reminder-your student must have their Homecoming ticket as well as their school issued ID to enter the Homecoming Dance. Students will not be allowed to enter the dance after 9:00 pm. Dance ends at 11:00pm; please make transportation arrangements in advance. We are looking forward to a positive experience for all students that attend the dance...wrapping up a tremendous Homecoming Week!
MCHS Homecoming Alert: Families-friendly reminder–If your student will be attending our Homecoming Football game tonight or our Homecoming Dance (dance ends at 11:00 pm on Saturday night)…they must be picked up or continue home no later than 30 minutes after the conclusion of the game or dance. Greetings, Martin County High School families. This is Mr. Fabrizio writing to share some important information with you about our upcoming Homecoming festivities.
Parents, I would like to thank you for your support as we navigated the threats made against our school and the subsequent arrest of two minors this morning. We understand and empathize with the fact that these events were likely extremely troubling for your student and your family, as they were for all of our faculty and staff. I want to assure you that, in partnership with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, we remain committed to safety. Martin County High School is an extremely safe campus and will remain that way because of the support and commitment of our students, employees, families and partners in law enforcement.
With that being said, I want to advise you that all Homecoming activities will proceed as planned. Although we remain extremely confident that the Martin County Sheriff’s Office has fully addressed any potential threats, we will continue to have increased law enforcement present throughout our parade, pep rally (which will be held during the school day tomorrow) , Homecoming game and dance out of an abundance of caution. We want all of our students to be able to enjoy the activities they have looked forward to and helped to plan, and we appreciate the Martin County Sheriff’s Office for their continued partnership in ensuring the safety of our students and employees.
Please continue to speak with your child about the importance of remaining alert, reporting suspicious activity they become aware of and making good decisions. Our school and the Martin County School District have zero tolerance for threats of any nature – individuals who make these extremely poor and illegal decisions will face severe school-based consequences and criminal charges. Good morning, Martin County High School School families. This is Mr. Fabrizio writing to make you aware of some important information related to school safety.
Late last evening, we were made aware of written threats against our school that were posted on Snapchat. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office immediately began investigating the written threats and identified two suspects who have since been arrested- one minor for making the written threats and another minor for possession of a loaded firearm that was provided to the first minor. Neither child attends our school. The investigation and arrests were completed early this morning- we have since been given the go ahead to release this information to our families, which is why I am contacting you at this time.
Parents – please continue to speak with your students about the role we all share in protecting the safety and security of our campus. The “see something, say something” rule played a critical role in this particular case, as being made aware of these horrific and extremely troubling social media postings allowed law enforcement to immediately investigate the threat and quickly make arrests. Please encourage your child to always report any suspicious activity they see or hear of to a teacher, administrator, our School Resource Officer or another trusted adult on campus. Students and members of the community may also report tips via our Martin County School District app or website at www.martinschools.org. These tips are received and investigated by District safety staff and law enforcement 24/7, and students may remain anonymous when reporting information if they would like.
The safety and security of our students and staff remain our top priorities. We appreciate the Martin County Sheriff’s Office for taking swift action last evening and overnight to investigate this incident and make the necessary arrests. We will also have an increased law enforcement presence on campus out of an abundance of caution. Please do not be alarmed by this as you are dropping off your student or passing by our campus- this action, which again is being taken out of an abundance of caution, is part of our school district’s continued partnership with the Martin County Sheriff’s to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
