๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒโœจ History Comes to Life in AICE International History! โœจ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“š

Students in Mrs. Falzonโ€™s AICE International History class are showcasing their learning from Unit 0 through creative and insightful one-pagers that highlight both historical knowledge and essential AICE skills!

From the Age of Exploration to the Unification of Germany and Italy and the transformative impact of the Industrial Revolution, students are demonstrating their understanding through thoughtful analysis and creative design.

Their projects feature key AICE skills, including:
๐Ÿ”น PEEL writing to build clear, evidence-based historical arguments
๐Ÿ”น Perspective Analysis to examine how an author's beliefs, experiences, and circumstances influence historical sources
๐Ÿ”น Document Analysis using primary sources to evaluate and better understand historical events

These one-pagers challenge students to think critically, make meaningful connections, support their ideas with evidence, and communicate their learning in engaging and innovative ways.

We are proud of the hard work, creativity, and historical thinking skills our Tigers are developing every day!

๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ“– Way to go, AICE Historians! Keep exploring the past to better understand our world.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿพ Today We Remember. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced one of the most tragic days in its history. On this 25th Anniversary of September 11, MCHS pauses to honor the lives lost, the heroes who courageously served others, and the families forever impacted by that day.

For our students, 9/11 is a historical event they have learned about in school. Yet the lessons it teaches remain as important today as ever: courage, service, resilience, compassion, and unity.

As we reflect on this anniversary, let us remember that our greatest strength is found in caring for one another, supporting our communities, and standing together in times of challenge. May we honor the legacy of those we lost by leading lives of character, kindness, and service.

Today, we remember. Today, we reflect. Today, we honor.

โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™ May we always remember.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿงฑ Building History, One Brick at a Time! ๐Ÿงฑ๐Ÿ›๏ธ

Students in Mrs. Kalwa's AP Art History class took a hands-on approach to exploring one of the world's most famous prehistoric monuments, Stonehenge! Using LEGO bricks, students worked collaboratively to recreate the iconic megalithic structure while learning about the engineering, purpose, and cultural significance of this ancient architectural wonder.

By transforming history into a creative building challenge, students gained a deeper understanding of how prehistoric societies designed and constructed monumental spaces long before modern technology. Learning came to life as they connected art, architecture, history, and teamwork through every brick they placed!

Who knew studying ancient architecture could be this much fun? ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ“š
