Our ENG4H seniors are diving deep into Unit 3: “Facing the Future, Confronting the Past,” exploring how history, memory, and consequence shape what comes next. 📖⏳
While studying Shakespeare’s Macbeth, students took on the “One Word” research project, choosing a powerful recurring symbol—Blood, Night, Subliminal, or Sleep—to analyze its meaning and impact throughout the play. Through original word art, deep dives into denotation vs. connotation, textual evidence, and carefully selected quotes and imagery, students uncovered how a single word can reveal ambition, guilt, power, and fate. 🎭🖌️
This creative, analytical project challenged students to think critically, connect past actions to future outcomes, and show their understanding in bold, visual ways—all while proving that Shakespeare’s themes still resonate today.
👏 Well done to our seniors for confronting the past and thinking thoughtfully about the future—one powerful word at a time! 👏
