This holiday season, MCHS students in Ms. Stuvel's class decided to write Santa a letter—but with a twist! 😜 They were tasked with expressing their thoughts on why Santa hasn’t visited them in the last few years. 🤔🎄 It wasn’t just about asking for presents this time; they had to use a variety of sentence structures, sprinkle in some figurative language, and make sure their voice was loud and clear. 😎🎤 Some students wrote like true detectives, asking Santa, "Have you been tracking my good deeds, or did my list get lost in the North Pole mail system?" 📬 Others got creative: "Maybe you got stuck in a chimney last year and decided to just skip me this time?" 🔥 Either way, they definitely made their opinions known in their own unique voices! 😂 ✍️ Looks like Santa might need a GPS to navigate these letters! 🎅🚗 #SantaNeedsDirections #MCHSVoices #HolidayHumor #WritingGoals

By examining different types of fibers and analyzing their properties, they’re discovering how even the smallest clue can make a big difference in solving a case! 🎭 Exploring Ancient Greek Theater at MCHS! 🎭 In Ancient Greek theater, actors used masks with exaggerated features to express emotions and convey the essence of their characters. Since the performances took place in massive amphitheaters, these masks helped the audience understand the emotions and personalities of the characters, even from far away! 🌟 In our latest project, MCHS students in Mr. Crelin's class took a deep dive into the world of Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex and Antigone, selecting one character to represent through their own custom-designed mask. 🎄 MCHS ENG3 and AICE Gen Paper: Celebrating the Spirit of the Season Through Literature and Research! ✨ In Mrs. Brandenburg's ENG3 (American Literature) class, we’re diving into Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s Christmas Bells, written on Christmas Day, December 25, 1863, as he reflected on the pain of his son’s injury during the Civil War. It's a powerful poem about hope, peace, and resilience. After analyzing its themes, our students are creatively bringing the poem to life by writing it on a lined template and coloring two additional ones to create ornaments for display! 🎨🎄 Meanwhile, her AICE Gen Paper students are exploring the history and significance of holidays.
