🌽 Fifth grade has been busy with all things CORN! 🌽 From reading about it, to investigating its parts in science, and even creating art by painting with corn—our students wrapped up their first unit in the most a-maize-ing way! 💛✨🐾

✨Our creative third graders have been hard at work!✨ Inspired by the works of Pablo Neruda, students explored the beauty in everyday life by writing poems about ordinary objects. From pencils to sneakers to lunchboxes, they discovered that even the simplest things can hold extraordinary meaning. This project was part of our preparation for Hispanic Heritage Month, as we honor and learn from the voices of influential Hispanic and Latin American artists, writers, and leaders. We are so proud of our young poets and the imagination they bring to our classrooms! 💛📚✏️

From place value to planetary facts, they’re combining math + science to explore space like pros!

Our second graders have been busy these first few weeks building something very important—teamwork! Through fun activities, games, and class projects, students have been practicing how to listen to each other’s ideas, share their own, and work together toward a common goal.

Collaboration has not only helped them start the year with a strong sense of community, but it’s also given them the chance to get to know their new classmates—and their teacher—on a deeper level. Watching them encourage one another, problem-solve as a group, and celebrate each other’s successes has been a joyful way to begin our journey together in 2nd grade.

Our 4th grade Wildcats have been busy kicking off the year as scientists and historians! 🧪🌱📚 From hands-on experiments to garden adventures, they’re exploring and discovering every day. They’ve also been diving into new AVID strategies like jigsaws and Socratic seminars to grow as collaborative learners. Way to go, Wildcats! 🐾✨

🔬 Our third graders put their science skills to the test this week! Using the scientific method, they designed and carried out an experiment to see how many drops of water could fit on a penny 💧

Students made hypotheses, collected data, and recorded their findings in their science notebooks. 📓✨

We love seeing their curiosity and critical thinking grow!
