STRONG ATTENDANCE = STRONG LEARNING ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŽ

When students are in class every day, they gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed.

Attendance always matters, but October 6-10 is especially important. That's the week the state takes its enrollment snapshot to decide school funding for the year.

โœ… Students in class = accurate snapshot = the right funding to support stronger schools in our A-rated District and better opportunities for our kids.

Let's work together to make sure our students are here next weekโ€”it makes a difference for everyone.

๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒŠ Our 4th graders had an amazing trip to the Environmental Studies Center! They learned about the different types of mangroves, discovered ocean life up close, and became hands-on scientists while exploring all the wonders of our lagoon. What a fun way to connect classroom learning to the world around us! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš

๐Ÿ‘‘โœจ Our third graders have been diving into the world of fiction! โœจ๐Ÿ“– This week, we read the classic fable of King Midas and used it to practice important reading skills. Students worked on identifying plot elements (rising action, climax, and resolution), uncovering the theme, and writing a strong summary of the story. To make our learning extra golden, each student was given a crown to record the plot elements from King Midasโ€™ tale. ๐Ÿ‘‘ The crowns turned out just as bright and creative as our readersโ€™ ideas! We are so proud of the way our students are learning to dig deeper into stories and find the lessons they hold. ๐ŸŒŸ

Our 4th grade scientists put the scientific method to the test! They researched, made hypotheses, explored variables, and built aluminum foil boats to see how many marbles they could hold. With repeated trials, they proved that science is hands-on, fun, and full of discovery!

๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿพ Our third graders have been busy exploring the animal kingdom! ๐ŸŸ๐ŸฆŽ๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿธ๐Ÿ’ Students recently wrapped up a science unit on how animals are classified. They learned all about the five types of vertebrates โ€” mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish โ€” as well as some fascinating invertebrates. Using the AVID strategy of two-column notes, students gathered information on the unique characteristics of each animal group. They then transformed their notes into colorful pages for their very own Animal Classification Book. We are so proud of their hard work, curiosity, and creativity! Take a look at our young scientists in action. ๐ŸŒŸ
