Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lisa Estevez and members of the Student Services team (Director Deb Riley, Coordinator Guillermo Orozco, and specialists Derrell McColister and Jenny Champagne) stopped by each campus to deliver the trophies and celebrate these schools for showing up and leading the way in attendance.

The MCSD March Madness IXL Challenge tips off today, with schools going head-to-head in a friendly competition to bring the most ELA and Math skills to proficiency. Each round resets the scoreboard, giving every school a fresh shot to advance.

National School Breakfast Week begins Monday, and our Quest for a Powerful Breakfast is about to begin! Fueling up each morning helps you stay focused, energized, and ready to conquer the school day. 💪
All students eating breakfast on Monday will receive a special crown! 👑 Daily prize winners will be randomly selected and announced at lunch each day. So join us in the royal cafe each morning as we journey toward strong minds, mighty mornings, and victorious days ahead. ⚔️🛡️

Odyssey of the Mind empowers students to think creatively, collaborate, and solve complex problems with opportunities to advance to the state and even world levels. Our talented team has put in countless hours of student-driven hard work, creativity, and teamwork to bring their ideas to life.

Our 5th graders have been exploring how to classify flowering and nonflowering plants — comparing seed-producing plants and spore-producing plants. 🌱🔬Thank you to our amazing PTA for donating digital microscopes to our STEM Lab! Because of your support, our students are observing and learning like real scientists. 💚

So proud of our incredible educators for leading the learning at MCSD Unstoppable University during our district Professional Development Day! 💙📚Our teachers brought the energy with Math Chopped: Unpack, Map, Create!
They unpacked standards, mapped out Topic 12 using the Big-M instructional guide, and put teacher clarity into action. Then, in a fast-paced “Chopped”-style challenge, teams created student-centered math games aligned to their mind-mapped standards.

Our second graders are exploring how technology helps solve real-world problems as part of our reading unit!
Today, we had a special visit from our amazing plant operator, who demonstrated the rover robot that helps keep our school floors clean. Students loved seeing this technology in action and learning how robots can make important jobs easier and more efficient.
It was a wonderful opportunity to connect our reading and learning to the real world and spark curiosity about how technology can help others.

PCE 4th graders and their families came together for a day full of hands-on STEM fun—building marshmallow igloos, designing catapults, making snow from diapers, trying ice fishing, and even creating flying helicopters! It was a day full of creativity, teamwork, laughter, and learning.
STEM + family fun truly made this a winter wonderland to remember for our Wildcats! ❄️🐾

Today our amazing third graders put their fraction skills to the test during a hands-on Project-Based Learning (PBL) activity! 🎉
Students became “master bakers” as they worked to divide their cookies into equal parts and carefully add the correct toppings to each fractional piece. From halves and thirds to fourths and beyond, they made sure every cookie was divided equally and accurately.
Not only did they practice identifying and creating fractions, but they also worked on teamwork, problem-solving, and attention to detail. We are so proud of their hard work and creativity! 💛
Way to go, third grade — you really took the cake today! 🍪✨
Our PCE 4th grade students explored matter and its properties in the most exciting way — by creating and testing magnetic slime! 🧲✨
