Our 5th graders are at it, learning all about preventing erosion in our community! After reviewing weathering and erosion standards and modeling the process in their own personal “sandboxes,” students jumped into action.
Through real-world application, they took on shared roles to design, engineer, construct, and even balance funding to create the best possible erosion-prevention solutions. 🌎🛠️💧

❄️☃️ Third Grade Snow Day Fun! ☃️❄️
Our third graders had a snow-tastic time celebrating the winter season! Students made their own “snow,” created festive winter crafts, and even sharpened their math skills with Multiplication Bingo 🎨➕🎲
It was a day full of learning, creativity, and winter fun, all without the cold! ❄️💙

Our 4th grade Wildcats are over the moon in science class! 🚀
As part of our science unit, students explored the phases of the moon by creating each phase using Oreo cookies—learning hands-on (and having a little fun along the way!).
From new moon to full moon, these young scientists showed great creativity, teamwork, and understanding of lunar phases. 🌕🌗🌑

The Grinch himself made a surprise visit to Palm City Elementary and totally stole the show (but not our Christmas spirit 😉)! From big smiles to lots of laughter, our students loved every second with this unexpected holiday guest. He spread Grinchy cheer throughout the campus, surrounded by our Totally PAWSome Wildcats! 🎄💚🐾

🐧The MCSD IXL Holiday Hustle is officially back for Year 2, and the question remains… Who will take home this year’s trophy?! 🐧
From December 20th - January 4th schools will compete to see who can bring the highest average number of ELA and/or Math skills to proficiency per student using IXL. Students may practice skills at their current grade level, as well as one year below or one year above their enrolled grade level, giving everyone multiple pathways to contribute to their school’s success.

💡 Our 4th graders have been “Blowing in the Wind!" Students explored energy transformation and renewable energy by designing their own wind turbines. They evaluated cost and energy usage, wrote persuasive letters, and even shopped for supplies using real-world decimal addition and subtraction.
Using their own digital volt meters, students tracked energy production and presented their findings like true engineers. 🧪⚡
Way to go, Wildcats! We love Project-Based Learning and the amazing curiosity it inspires!

December is the ✨SWEETEST✨ month in kindergarten! Students have been learning all about the Gingerbread Man and comparing and contrasting many versions of this famous story. We all loved learning about how families celebrate different holidays like Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa.

🧪🥚 Third Grade Egg-Cellent Engineering!
Our third graders have been hard at work designing and building creative contraptions out of recycled materials to discover the best way to protect an egg from a big drop! From cushioned containers to detailed designs, their imaginations and engineering skills have truly impressed us.
