Hello Pinewood Family, We had a fabulous time with you this past week as we celebrated literacy. Huge THANK YOU to the students, teachers, staff, and parents who participated and made Splash Around The World a success! If you were not able to attend, we missed you but will send home a treasure of books for you to read at home. Every single student should have received a bookbag with books to read at home by the end of this week (Thank you Title I). 🚀BLAST OFF TO KINDERGARTEN🚀 The countdown to kindergarten is on in the Martin County School District! T-7 days until our kindergarten orientation events, where families with rising kindergartners learn everything they need to be prepared for August! During the events, families will tour their child's zoned elementary school, meet the principal and leadership team, visit a kindergarten classroom, learn how to prepare their child for success in kindergarten and enroll their child in our high-performing school district. La membresía de SAC debe reflejar la composición de nuestra comunidad escolar para garantizar que todos los grupos estén representados. Parents Needed for School Advisory Council (SAC) The School Advisory Council (SAC) is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the goals of the School Improvement Plan. The SAC membership must reflect the composition of our school community to ensure all groups are represented. If more than one parent is interested, a vote will take place at the next scheduled PTA Meeting. Members of SAC participate in a monthly meeting at the school at 5:30 pm. 📚CELEBRATING LITERACY📚 Join the Martin County School District as we dive into fostering a love for reading during "Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida!" 🐝ICYMI: STELLAR SPELLERS SHINE🐝 The Martin County School District recently held the 57th Annual Lillian A. Dassori Elementary Spelling Bee at Jensen Beach High School. Students from all twelve of the District's elementary schools participated in seven rounds of competition, tackling tough words such as '"aardvark," "anathema," and "celestial." The winner of the Bee, Olivia Priddy from SeaWind Elementary - Hobe Sound, FL, nailed the winning word, "eschew." 🚨LAW ENFORCEMENT ALERT FOR FAMILIES🚨 The Martin County Sheriff's Office is actively enforcing laws about the operation of unregistered golf carts in our community, particularly near school campuses. Golf carts are only permitted on roads with a maximum 35 mph speed limit, and that’s only if they are titled, registered, insured and have all the appropriate safety measures to make them street legal. Please be mindful of these regulations, as deputies will issue citations for violations. #ALLINMartin👊 #PublicSchoolProud

Panther Families, Your child will be taking home a packet with information regarding a new fundraiser. We are trying this out this year. Remember, that participation is optional. The only thing you and your child need to do is spread the word via email to as many friends and family as possible. Once you do that, a code will be given to you to place in the envelope and return to the school. Your child will receive an adorable animal hugger just for returning the envelope with the code. Other prizes can be won! More information is coming home today with your child. Thank you.
