Hello Pinewood Family,
We want to thank all of you for the wonderful treats and love shared during teachers & staff appreciation week. We are grateful for your support. Our 3rd-5th grades have completed their FAST ELA and Math Assessments. I commend them for their great effort in staying focused and aiming to be their very best. This coming week begins testing for Kindergarten-2nd grade. Fifth grade will also take their FAST Science Assessment. All library books are due April 16th.
Here are the events for this week:
5/12 - 1st grade ELA STAR/FAST
5/13 - 2nd grade ELA STAR/FAST and Cub Scouts 6pm
5/14 - 5th grade FAST Science Assessment

Queremos agradecerles a todos por los maravillosos obsequios y el cariño compartido durante la semana de agradecimiento a los maestros y al personal. Agradecemos su apoyo. Nuestros alumnos de 3.º a 5.º grado han completado sus evaluaciones FAST de ELA y matemáticas. Los felicito por su gran esfuerzo por mantenerse enfocados y aspirar a dar lo mejor de sí mismos. Esta semana comienzan las pruebas para kínder a 2.º grado. Quinto grado también realizará su evaluación FAST de ciencias. La fecha límite para entregar todos los libros de la biblioteca es el 16 de abril.

Hello Pinewood Family,
Our 3th-5th grade students gave it their all this past with during their ELA PM3 assessment. They will be gearing up again to take the Math PM3 this week. We will send out reminders. K-2nd grade will begin On May 12th-May 20th. We are 18 school days away from the end of a fantastic school year. There is much left to do and accomplish until then. Mother's Day Flowers are on sale until Wednesday, May 7th. Finally, we celebrate our AMAZING staff this week during Teacher/Staff Appreciation week. Each individual at The PWE brings an immeasurable amount of dedication and love that makes this school one in a million.

Nuestros alumnos de 3.º a 5.º grado dieron lo mejor de sí esta semana en su evaluación PM3 de ELA. Esta semana se prepararán de nuevo para presentar la PM3 de Matemáticas. Enviaremos recordatorios. Los grados K-2 comenzarán del 12 al 20 de mayo. Estamos a 18 días de que termine un fantástico año escolar. Queda mucho por hacer y lograr hasta entonces. Las flores del Día de la Madre estarán a la venta hasta el miércoles 7 de mayo. Por último, celebramos a nuestro INCREÍBLE personal esta semana durante la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros y al Personal. Cada persona en PWE aporta una dedicación y un amor inconmensurables que hacen de esta escuela algo único.

Here are a few important dates and details to keep in mind:
Last Day for Student Checkouts: May 9th.
All Books Due: May 16th.
New Event: Return Raffle Starting May 1st, students returning books between May 1st and May 16th will receive a raffle ticket for each book they return.
Example: 1 book = 1 ticket, 3 books = 3 tickets.
Students will write their names on the tickets and place them in the raffle basket.
Raffle winners will be drawn on May 19th. Prizes TBD
Please note:
Tickets will only be issued for books returned between May 1st and May 16th.

Extended Day summer programs are open to all students who will be enrolled in grades K-5 at a District-operated school next year. Programs will be held Monday - Friday beginning June 2 and running through July 25. Registration will be held online through FOCUS.

The Elementary Cardboard Boat Race will be held on Saturday, May 17 at Sailfish Splash.
Students and families: put your creativity and teamwork to the test– design boats out of cardboard to see who can float, race, and survive the splash zone.
