What a GREAT First Day, Panthers!
We loved seeing our students back on campus today! Thank you to our families for helping us kick off another amazing school year.
As we settle into our routines, here are a few important reminders:
🚗 Morning Drop-Off
Students may be dropped off through both the North and South gates.
📵 Our school zone and carline are device-free zones. Please avoid using cell phones and electronic devices while traveling through the posted school zone and carline. Help us keep our Panthers safe!
⏰ Be On Time!
• First bell: 7:30 AM
• Instruction begins: 7:40 AM
Please allow your child plenty of time to get to their classroom and be ready to learn by 7:40AM.
👕 Dress Code Reminders
• Skirts, skorts, and dresses may be no shorter than 2 inches above the top of the knee.
• Shorts must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee or completely cover the buttocks.
• For safety, elementary students may not wear sandals, open-toe shoes, flip-flops, or shoes without a back. Crocs must be in “sport mode” at all times
👟 Sneakers are recommended and are the safest option for our Panthers!
📝 FOCUS & Student Information
Please make sure your information in FOCUS is up to date. If your child came home with a yellow packet of forms, please complete it and return it to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.

As we get ready for a great school year, here are a few important reminders to help keep our bus routes running safely and on time:
Students:
• Be at your bus stop 10 minutes early.
• Be visible so the driver can see you.
• Bus schedules are tight—the bus cannot wait.
• Remember to scan your student badge when boarding the bus.
Parents:
• Download the MyReaXium app for real-time bus updates.
• Track your child's bus location and receive delay notifications.
• Bus routes and pickup times are available on the district Transportation webpage.

Important Meal Information for Pinewood Families!
Beginning this school year, Pinewood Elementary is no longer part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program. This means students may now qualify for free, reduced-price, or paid meals based on household eligibility.
What you need to know:
• Returning students who qualify for the 30-day grace period should wait until September 10 to submit a new meal application so they can continue receiving last year's meal status for the full grace period.
• New students (Kindergarten, transfers, or families new to the area) should submit a meal application as soon as possible. Paper applications are also available at the school.
• There's no need to pack breakfast or lunch on the first day of school—our cafeteria team will be ready to serve your student! Please remember to send your child's student ID each day for meal purchases.

The Extended Day program is available for students in VPK-5 attending a District-operated school. Students must be enrolled in the program at their school of attendance.
