⚖CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARS SHINE⚖ In partnership with the Center for Constitutional Values' Scholarship Fund and the YMCA of The Treasure Coast, the Martin County School District held the final round of its annual Constitutional Academic Competition this week. Students from each District-operated high school debated the U.S. Supreme Court case "Miller v. Alabama" before presiding judges. The case addressed the constitutionality of enacting life sentences without parole for juveniles convicted of capital crimes. 🎉CELEBRATING STUDENT INTERNS🎉 The Martin County School District hosted a celebration for its graduating Students Supporting Schools (S3) interns yesterday! The S3 program is an initiative by which the District hires and trains students as part-time employees to serve in various paid and non-paid internships related to technology and graphic design. ✈️TAKING FLIGHT✈️ Touring Martin County's Witham Field to personally experience all things related to aviation is just one of the many benefits offered to students enrolled in Spectrum Academy's Aerospace Technologies program. The program's goal is to encourage students' interests in science, engineering and mathematics while preparing them for certification as aircraft assemblers. Students learn the fundamental theories of aircraft design and construction while also becoming proficient with the tools and processes used for aircraft assembly. 🤝CELEBRATING PARTNERSHIP🤝 The Martin County School District held its annual Volunteer & Business Partner Awards Ceremony on April 14, honoring many outstanding members of our community for their donation of their time and talents to our students and schools. More than 2,400 volunteers donated approximately 42,000 hours of their time in service to children in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years, resulting in an estimated impact equivalent to $1.2M. "Our daughter, Kiana Kuschel, is what those of us who know her call SFHS's #1 fan!" proud mother Patricia Kuschel shares. "Kiana has always has a love for SFHS and is a proud Bulldog through and through! She didn't just attend South Fork, she LIVED South Fork! In addition to being a successful student in the International Baccalaureate program, Kiana worked as the lead technician for the auditorium, spending many evenings at South Fork ensuring that the shows would go on. Her team spirit has always been off the charts! My husband and I have the greatest memories of watching Kiana come down the stairs for school dressed as a wizard, super hero, or her favorite singer. We'll never forget #ThrowbackThursdays where she dressed in colonial era garb - wig, boots and all! Kiara has evolved into a talented, caring and bright young lady during her time at South Fork. She's been nominated for a Pathfinders of Palm Beach/Martin County Scholarship Fund Award and was offered scholarships from FAU, UCF and USF. Not surprisingly, Kiana is also one of two SFHS Spirit Dogs - cheering for the Bulldogs is her thing! We know that come graduation, tears will be shed. Sad tears of friends moving on and happy tears of accomplishment and fun memories. Kiana will become a University of Central Florida Knight soon, but fear not Bulldog Nation - she'll always be a Bulldog at heart!" 🎉Congratulations, Kiana! 🎉 We are so very proud of you!
