Today's senior in the spotlight is Alyssa Nicolella of South Fork High School!
"Alyssa has had an amazing experience at South Fork," her proud mother, Lauretta Connell, shares. "As a Bulldog cheerleader for the last three years, she has had a great time and participated in the school's spirt on and off the field. She has made so many long-lasting friends, and a few lifelong. Year after year she has grown, learned and been super excited about the future because of the opportunities that are offered by South Fork. Alyssa plans on staying local for her associate degree and then attending a university to further her education and ultimately become a veterinarian. Her love for animals has always been her passion since she was a little girl. She has an amazing touch with all furry friends. I know Alyssa will do amazing things in her life and add beauty to this world. I wish her all good things this world has to offer."
🎉Congratulations, Alyssa! 🎉 We are so very proud of you!

🍎INSTRUCTIONAL UPDATE FOR FAMILIES🍎
In March, Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 1048 into law, effectively eliminating Florida Standards Assessments (FSAs) and replacing them with progress monitoring.
This school year will be the last year that students take FSAs - next year, Florida will fully implement progress monitoring-based school accountability.
Our Division of Instructional Services has created a video explaining what parents need to know about this new legislation and the status of assessments: https://youtu.be/hjIM1Xcns6c.
Many of our students will participate in FSAs this week. We ask families to continue prioritizing attendance and punctuality while also encouraging their children to take pride in demonstrating what they have learned this year. Families are encouraged to reach out to their child's school with any questions.
