🚀 Engineering in Action! 🚀 Students in Mr. Mockabee's Exploring Engineering classes have been hard at work designing and building skimmers using only Manila folders, tape, and glue. This week, they began the exciting testing phase, launching their creations across polished flooring and measuring the distance traveled. As part of the project, students are collecting data, measuring launch distances, and calculating the average of three trials to evaluate the performance of their designs. This hands-on activity combines engineering, problem-solving, and mathematics while encouraging creativity and innovation. We're excited to see how these designs evolve through testing and refinement. Keep an eye out for photos of the final products and the results of their engineering challenges!

🌍🌊 Some of our National Junior Honor Society students joined the Powell Family and Keep Martin Beautiful on Saturday for the International Coastal Cleanup Day — the world's largest annual volunteer effort for ocean and beach health. We were proud to spend the morning at Jensen Beach/Turtle Beach cleaning our shores, protecting wildlife, and making our community cleaner and safer. Our volunteers also brought non-perishable food items to the event to help a local food bank!💙

📚✨ AVID SPOTLIGHT! ✨📚 Today, Coach Cruz’s 8th Grade AVID class took a moment to reflect on the skills they’ve learned and how AVID is helping them grow as students! 💙🧡 From organization to collaboration, goal-setting, and beyond—these Jaguars are building skills for success! 🐆🎓 Check them out! 👀💪

Learning about Earth’s Geosphere… with OREOS!  Students in Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Ryan's 7th grade science classes got hands-on while exploring the layers of Earth’s geosphere! Using an Oreo as their model, students represented each layer: Crust: the Oreo cookie, Mantle: the icing, Liquid Outer Core: the chocolate syrup,  and Solid Inner Core: an M&M.  This tasty model helped students visualize and understand the different layers of Earth while preparing for today’s science quiz!

🐾 PBIS POP UP: RESPONSIBILITY! 🐾 Our Jaguars are showing us what it means to ROAR with RESPONSIBILITY! 🧡💙 Today, we’re celebrating these students who have been making responsible choices and showing they can be counted on. 👏✨ Way to ROAR, Jaguars! We are ROAR-ing proud of you! 🐾

Today 8th Grade Civics Students got a presentation from a member of our community to celebrate the ratification of the U.S Constitution. Students got to work up the courts and debate if a teachers rights were violated and got to take an active role as members of our Federal government and act out Separation of Powers and Checks and Balances.

Tomorrow Builders Club meets at 8:15AM! All students are welcome to attend.
