🐾 PBIS Pop-Up! 🐾 Period 7 was all about being ON TASK, and our Jaguars showed us they were ready to ROAR! 🧡💙 We surprised students who were on task during the period with a special PBIS celebration! Way to stay focused and make great choices, Jaguars! 🎉

📚✨ Plotting Their Way to Success! Mr. Quijano’s AVD ELA students put their reading skills into action by creating plot diagrams that identified and organized the key events of a story. From the opening moments to the climax and resolution, students demonstrated their ability to analyze how each event contributes to the story as a whole. 🎬📖 Reading. Analyzing. Connecting. Creating. Our Jaguars are bringing stories to life while strengthening their literary thinking skills! 🐆🧡💙

With more than 13 years of experience in education and a strong background in instructional leadership, assessment, curriculum, intervention planning, and teacher support, Ms. Glauber brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for helping students and educators thrive.

A dedicated Martin County educator and former middle school math teacher, she is excited to partner with our staff, students, and families as we continue the great work happening at SMS.

Ms. Mailhot’s Civics students participated in a vocabulary scavenger hunt to review the seven principles of the U.S. Constitution! 🇺🇸 Students traveled around the classroom, analyzed clues, and matched each definition to the correct vocabulary term. This activity encouraged collaboration, movement, and critical thinking while strengthening students’ understanding of these important constitutional principles! #CivicsInAction #ConstitutionalPrinciples #VocabularyReview #StudentEngagement #LearningInMotion

🧡💙 ROAR Rewards in Action! 🐾 Yesterday during 5th period, teachers had the opportunity to recognize a student who truly showcased the R in ROAR — Respectful! 🙌 These Jaguars were treated to a refreshing ice pop as a special reward for demonstrating what it means to be respectful and set a great example for others. 🍧🐆 A big THANK YOU to Mrs. Ryan and Mrs. Jones for putting together such a fun way to celebrate our students! We love seeing our Jaguars live out the ROAR expectations! 🐾🧡💙 Keep ROARing, Jaguars! 🐆✨

Bubble Gum Science in Action! Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Ryan’s 7th grade science classes put the Practices of Science to work today during the Bubble Gum Lab! 🍬 Our students used the steps of the scientific method to investigate an important question: Which brand of bubble gum can blow the biggest bubble? Students developed hypotheses, conducted their experiments, collected data, and analyzed their results, all while having a sweet time learning science! We love seeing our students think like scientists, work together, and learn through hands-on investigation!
