📣 Attention Jaguar Families! Testing is Almost Here! 📣
State testing is right around the corner, and now is a great time for students to begin doing a little extra practice at home to build confidence and sharpen their skills.
We encourage all students to spend some time outside of school reviewing using these two excellent resources:
✅ IXL FAST STUDY PLAN – Personalized practice tailored to your child’s needs
✅ FLFAST Practice Site:
Follow these steps:
• Click “Sample Items”
• Select “Continue as Guest”
• Choose “Guest Session”
• Pick your student’s grade level
From there, students can explore sample questions and even try released tests to become more comfortable with the format and expectations.
💡 Parent Tip: Setting aside just 15–20 minutes a night can make a big difference!
Thank you for your continued support in helping your child be prepared and successful!

Day 1 of Teacher Appreciation Week and our PTSA already set the bar sky-high ☕✨ Nothing says “we’ve got this Monday” like an early morning coffee bar to fuel the SMS staff. Because let’s be honest… a caffeinated teacher = a powerful teacher 💪📚 Huge shoutout to our PTSA for always going above and beyond. The extra effort never goes unnoticed—and today was just more proof that ours is simply the best. 💙

This week, Mr Quijano's Gifted students showcased their research presentations centered around the essential question: “How do our communities shape our experience of growing up?” Through thoughtful interviews with parents and teachers, students explored how community influences childhood experiences and helps shape who we become. Their presentations reflected meaningful connections, strong communication skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. We are so proud of the hard work, curiosity, and insight these students demonstrated—what a fantastic job! 👏📚
