Deputy Superintendent
Dr. Tracey Miller, a graduate of Martin County High School, is a lifelong educator having worked in the Martin County School District since 1992. She has served the community as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, Director of Elementary Programs and School Improvement, and Assistant Superintendent of Academics before being appointed to the role of Deputy Superintendent in July 2023.
Dr. Miller earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Florida, Master's and Specialist degrees from Florida Atlantic University and became a Doctor of Educator in 2009 upon the completion of the doctoral program at Florida Atlantic University. She is passionate about ensuring all students have access to learning environments that support the Martin County School District's rigorous curriculum.
She serves on various community boards and committees: CareerSource Board of Directors, LEADERship Martin County, Martin Youth LEADERship and Early Learning Coalition of Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee Counties.
The Operations Division plays a vital role in supporting the educational mission of our school district by ensuring that every student and staff member benefits from a safe, efficient, and supportive environment. Often, the first and last district employee to interact with students each day are our dedicated custodians, bus drivers, and food services staff - underscoring the essential role operations plays in daily school life.
Under the leadership of the Deputy Superintendent, the Operations Division provides strategic direction and oversight across several key service areas, including:
Educational Technology Managing the district's technology infrastructure to support teaching and learning
Facilities Department Committing to provide safe and healthy environments that promote student learning and well-being
Food and Nutrition Services Providing nutritious meals that support student health and learning
Maintenance Department Ensuring clean and well-maintained school buildings and grounds
Transportation Department Delivering safe and reliable transportation for students
School Choice Overseeing the School Choice program to include monitoring capacity and determining seats available
Through collaboration with all stakeholders, the Operations Division is committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence, delivering services promptly and aligned with district timelines. Our goal is to remain accessible while creating and maintaining functional, sustainable environments that enhance student achievement and community partnerships.
